How to get the Genesis Bow in Remnant 2 (Map Location)

The Genesis long gun is very well-hidden with the world's hardest puzzle keeping it locked behind a door.

The Genesis Bow is one of the most coveted and challenging-to-acquire weapons in Remnant 2. To get it, you'll first need to track it down before solving an incredibly tricky puzzle. Fortunately, I've done all the hard work and included the answer below.

Where is the Genesis Long Gun located in Remnant 2?

The Genesis Bow location will be close to where you find the Warden Archetype. Start from the Waylaid Conservatory fast-travel point, then head toward the edge of the cliff as indicated in the screenshot below.

Next, grab the glider and take off, straight across to the next platform over. Then run through the corn-like plants on the other side. Keep going straight until you find another glider platform.

Hop on the glider, then immediately turn right. Keep to the right, hugging the edge of the big column on your right.

There will be a wind pillar along this side. Go past it, then turn 120 degrees to the left, then take the wind pillar up.

There will be a platform straight ahead. Land on this.

How to solve the Genesis bow puzzle in Remnant 2

The short answer to this question is that you don't solve the puzzle to get the Genesis Bow. While some players have been able to brute force this puzzle by adjusting their clocks, the developers have stated that the time clock adjustment is a "workaround," and that "they aren't the actual solution," to the puzzle (via X).

The codes are on a constantly-repeating cycle that resets every few days. If you change the time on your PC or console to 4:50PM EST on 9/29/2024, the code should be this:

It's not a great solution to the puzzle, but it is as consistent as we could get the code to be. I checked this time and date and code together on both my PlayStation 5 and on PC, and it worked for both of those. I do not own an Xbox Series, so I wasn't able to check it on there, but it should be the same.

How to change the time and date on PC

For most PCs, if you right click on the time and date in the bottom left corner of the screen, there should be an option to "Adjust Date and Time." Click on it, then change the time and date to 4:50PM EST on 9/29/2024.

How to change the time and date on PlayStation 5

Head into the Settings menu, then press System. Under System, press on Set Date and Time. This will bring up a menu that prompts you to "Set date and time with the internet" or "Set date and time manually." Choose "Manually. Next. change the time and date to 4:50PM ET on 9/29/2024.

How to change the time and date on an Xbox Series S/X

This one is the most challenging to change the time and date settings. You will have to disconnect your Xbox from the internet before you can alter the time or date, so you won't be able to complete this with friends. Go to Settings, then select "Go Offline." You may need to shut down your Xbox and then turn it back on to have this setting update.

When your Xbox is back up and running, go into Settings, then System, then set the Time to 4:50PM. Set the date to 9/29/2024, then start up Remnant 2 and head to the Bow and put in the code.

So what's the real answer to the puzzle?

No one knows just yet, but Tragic has been throwing hints our way that we already know the answer, and it has something to do with this picture he Tweeted. The Remnant Discord has been going crazy trying to figure this one out; as soon as the answer is known, I will update this article with the true answer.

All Genesis Long Gun stats in Remnant 2

The Genesis Bow, as the name sort of implies is a Sega Genesis in bow form with its Mega Drive mod. Even the lore suggests the Mega Drive and the Sega Genesis: "The Phetyr thrived on competition, even in weapon design. The Genesis Bow, facing a formidable rival, distinguished itself with one standout feature: 32x Blast Processing, as its creator was quick to point out.” The 32x is a reference to the 32x add-on for Sega Genesis and Sega CD.

On top of all the fun references, the Genesis Long Gun also has some great stats. Plus it has Entanglement, which allows you to hit multiple targets at once, it deals a decent amount of damage, and the accuracy is off the charts. It's a great addition to any long-gun build.

Best Mutators for the Genesis Bow in Remnant 2

The best mutator in the game for the Genesis Long Gun is Supercharger. It allows you to pull back the bow so much faster along with additional crit chance on your charged shots. While some rings can also give you crit chance, most of those rings don't have any other stats.

As for the rings and gear you want to put together with the Genesis bow, I like using lightweight gear (like the Dendroid set found on Root Earth) and the Zero Hour amulet. If you want heavier weight armor with the build above, you can use the Elevated Ring to lighten any armor you put on and bring up the weight limit for light weight.

HuGs (Hunter/Gunslinger) with Bullet Storm and Hunter's Mark is a good choice for Archetypes. I like the Tightly Wound Coil ring with this build for some extra shield. If you have at least one point in Regrowth or some other source of healing, you can use Anastasija's Inspiration and Feathery Binding together. If you don't want to waste a ring slot, you can just carry around some Haste consumables to make sure you always have Haste. Archer's Crest is also a great choice for a ring. Braided Thorns and Probability Cord are other ring options you could go with.
