Are the Sentinel Nine & Skull Shaker worth buying in Resident Evil 4 Remake?

The short answer is no, but the Sentinel Nine has potential!

The Sentinel Nine and Skull Shaker come automatically with the Deluxe Edition of Resident Evil 4 Remake but can also be purchased separately. These weapons will be placed into Storage until Leon gets to the first Typewriter of the game where he can retrieve it. While these weapons come fully loaded, the answer to how good they actually are is pretty subjective. Ask most players, and they will undoubtedly say they aren't worth the money, but let's look at the stats to prove that. Are the Sentinel Nine and Skull Shaker worth upgrading in Resident Evil 4 Remake?

Are the Sentinel Nine & Skull Shaker good in Resident Evil 4 Remake?

The Sentinel Nine has a very high magazine size even before upgrading in Resident Evil 4. The handgun is easy to upgrade early on and does a decent amount of damage with each shot. For an early game weapon, it isn't too bad. However, Leon's starting weapon, the SG-09 R, begins to outshine it in damage fairly quickly. The Punisher is also an option fairly early on and can be compared to the SG.

There are many other weapons in the game, making both of these weapons unlikely to be kept until the end of the game. They both have the same Exclusive, and if Critical Hits are what players are after, then the Sentinel Nine's damage won't matter, as players will just be fishing for crits anyway. But for raw damage, every other weapon outshines it.

The Skull Shaker will mostly be compared to the W-870 shotgun, as the next shotgun won't be available until much later into the game. Unlike the handgun comparisons, the Skull Shaker is outshined by the W-870 in nearly every category. They have the same Exclusive, doubling their damage, but the Skull Shaker isn't going to out-damage any of the other shotguns in the game. It takes up much less inventory space, but it isn't worth the drawbacks.
