One of the PlayStation 5's first true exclusives, Returnal, allows players to venture into a mysterious and unknown world in a tense rogue-like adventure. While players praised the gameplay and design, one of the most requested features since the game launched in early 2021 has been the option to pause a run and close it for later play. That's now a possibility in the Returnal 2.0 update.
In the Returnal's 2.0 update, Housemarque brings in the Suspend Cycle. This mechanic allows players to pause a run when they close the game rather than losing progress when swapping to another title on the PlayStation 5. Considering that Returnal only had one save point before the 2.0 update several hours in, it allows much more freedom for those who want to pick up and play the game for small intervals.
Players will also be able to take pictures during gameplay with the newest feature, Photo Mode. Housemarque has stated that they brought this option to the game due to popular demand from fans. Now players can capture images amid gameplay for this next-generation title as often as they'd like.
