The Hunter Exam is tough, but the first test is knowing when to stop rerolling. In this Beyond Nen Race and Lineage Tier List, I'll go over the rolls I'd keep, the ones worth chasing, and the perks that actually make a difference once you leave character creation.
Beyond Nen Tier List
Your race gives you passive stats from the start, while your lineage can give you a combat mode, a counter perk, or a head start on crafting materials. In Beyond Nen, I'd judge those bonuses by what you're doing most often. Extra speed pays off on every trip across Whale Island, while a damage boost against bosses earns its keep when you're farming a drop.
If you want one setup for both PvE and PvP, I’d go for perks that help in most fights. If you're building around weapons or spending half your time in the mines, there's a good reason to keep a more specialized roll. You can always revisit it when your build changes.

I'd prioritize damage and Durability for a race I'm planning to keep long-term. Stamina and movement speed still pull their weight, especially when you're dodging, closing the gap, or running around Whale Island before you've got your route down.
The gap between the top two and the rest is clear, but the best upgrade depends on your build. Rabbit's weapon bonus can be exactly what you want, and Human is perfectly fine while you're getting started. You don't need to spend your evening trying to become a Cyborg.

Human
Celestial and Cyborg are my top two races. Celestial is the easy all-round pick, with +5% to Strength, Weapon, Durability, Nen, and Stamina, plus +2.5% damage. Cyborg gets +3.5% damage and +10% Durability, making it my pick when I want more room to take a hit. I'd keep either roll.
Rabbit and Cat sit in A tier. Rabbit's +10% Weapon makes it a strong keep for weapon builds, while Cat's +10% movement speed helps you chase, disengage, and reposition. Both give +5% Stamina, and Rabbit also gets +5% movement speed. Human is B tier with +10% Stamina and +5% movement speed. It's a comfortable starter, especially if you regularly run low on Stamina, so there's no rush to spin it away.
Beyond Nen Lineage Tier List
A good lineage can give your build a lot more direction than a race can. I value a mode that stays up long enough to get through a tough fight, but I'm also happy to keep a perk that makes the grind easier. The trick is knowing which job you want your clan to do.

Zoldyck, Kurta, and Netero are my S-tier picks. Zoldyck's Assassin's Instincts gives you +25% movement speed and +10% damage for two minutes, plus the lineage has electricity and poison resistance. Kurta is my pick for boss farming: you get 15% more damage against bosses and NPCs, and Controlled Rage adds a mix of offense and sustain once your eyes awaken. Netero's Golden Aura lasts three and a half minutes and boosts Nen damage, Nen defense, and movement speed, which gives you plenty of time to make it count.
Morrow and Lucilfer land in A tier for different jobs. I'd keep Morrow for fighting above my level, though its damage penalty against weaker targets makes it less appealing for farming old areas. Lucilfer is the roll I'd want for a crafting grind: Treasure Hunter gives you a 50% chance to double qualifying materials. Chrollo can keep the cloak; I'm here for the extra ore.
Hazama and Krueger are B-tier picks. Hazama rewards a parry with +20% damage on your next weapon hit, but there's a one-minute cooldown. Krueger gives you 30% more passive regeneration after standing still for ten seconds, so it's better for catching your breath between fights. Hill joins the Common and Uncommon lineages in C tier. The latter have no perks, and Hill's slow requires an opponent to hit you while you're emoting. It makes for a funny clip, but I wouldn't build around it.

I'd hold onto Freecss if you roll it. I'm leaving it unranked until I can pin down what its perks do in the current build. For everything else, I'd start by picking the race and lineage that suit what you spend most of your time doing, then save the rest of your spins until you have a specific upgrade in mind.
