After months of dormancy, news regarding the status of one of the most popular series on Roblox, Pet Simulator, has officially been announced. On Nov. 15, 2023, the official BIG Games X account posted a link to a YouTube video that, on Sunday, Nov. 19, 2023, at 9am CT, will premier a trailer for the development company's newest project, Pet Simulator 99.
This project, typically referred to as "Happy Pet Game" by the community, debuted on the Roblox platform in Feb. 2022, but wasn't brought into conversation by fans until Aug. 2023, when it was discovered that the experience had been receiving regular updates. Previous to that discovery, in June 2023, BIG Games' founder and the creator of Pet Simulator, Preston, made a post on X that simply said "9," leading players to believe that a new experience could debut on July or Sept. 9, 2023. The next month, Preston made another post, this time one that featured a gif of the number nine, and was then silent in Aug. 2023.
On Sept. 9, 2023, the day the community expected the release of "Happy Pet Game," another post was made by Preston that included a gif of the number nine yet again. Nothing more came from this post, and it wasn't until Nov. 9, 2023 that another cryptic post was made, this time by BIG Games itself. At first, fans were intrigued by the mystery of the number nine, but as months passed and the company's currently-active experience (Pet Simulator X) continued to lose players and failed to receive updates, the intrigue was lost.
Despite this, BIG Games continued forward with its marketing plan—posting on Nov. 15, 2023, a link to the premier trailer for its newest project that's set to debut on Nov. 19, 2023. An official release date for the actual Pet Simulator 99 experience is unknown at the time of this article's publication, but it will likely be revealed, or at least hinted at, in the teaser trailer.
