While your base is set up in order to combat waves of enemies, you can roam around the map and look for crates that give players either money, blocks, or weapons.
In order to customize your base's look, you will need a paintbrush, which you can get either by purchasing the gamepass or by joining the group, favoriting the game, and playing the game for one hour. There's at least some free rewards in the game, since there aren't any codes.
Certain enemies will have an "aura" around them, and once defeated, you will gain lunar currencies that you can use to purchase lunar items, such as turrets and weapon crates.
