The best weapons in Clover RPG offer more than a big number on the first swing. You need to consider reach, proficiency scaling, attack speed, and how well a weapon fits your build. Some early weapons also hold up surprisingly well, so a higher proficiency requirement does not automatically mean you have found an upgrade. This Clover RPG weapons tier list ranks all Light, Medium, and Heavy gear, so check it out.

Clover Gauntlets, Bloodthorne, and Luminous Thorn lead my Light shortlist. Balmung and the Widowbane variants stand out among Medium weapons, while Mournblade, Ceremonial Greataxe, and Bone Reaper are my leading Heavy picks.
Weapons are ranked primarily against alternatives within their category. An S-tier dagger and an S-tier greataxe serve different builds, and sharing a tier does not make them interchangeable.
- S Tier: Leading options in their category, with standout damage, scaling, reach, or a particularly strong combination.
- A Tier: Strong alternatives with a meaningful trade-off against the top picks.
- B Tier: Usable weapons and worthwhile progression options that face stronger competition.
- C Tier: Mostly starter equipment or weapons with limited long-term appeal from the available stats.
Acquisition difficulty and selling price do not determine placement. Weapons with identical supplied combat stats are grouped together unless there is evidence to separate them.
DISCLAIMER: These are my preliminary rankings based on the pubiclaly avilable weapon stats on the community wiki and the combat systems we have covered. Weapon-specific skills, critical attacks, and complete movesets remain the biggest gaps. As I learn more about each of the weapons and tested them out throughly in practise, I'll keep updating my Clover RPG weapon tier list.
| Tier | Weapons and Ranking Explanation |
|---|---|
| S | Light Weapons Clover Gauntlets The biggest Light-weapon damage outlier: 18 damage, 7 scaling, and an accessible proficiency requirement of 5. They substantially improve on the Ironclad Gauntlets while matching their range and Speed. Bloodthorne Combines 13 damage and 7 scaling with a 0.925 Speed value. A leading candidate for close pressure, although its 7.75 range gives up reach to the rapiers. Luminous Thorn A strong reach-focused option with 15 damage, 9 range, and 6 scaling. Its appeal is landing meaningful hits from farther away, rather than competing with gauntlets on raw damage. Medium Weapons Balmung Leads the Medium category with 17 damage, backed by 6 scaling. A strong damage benchmark, though its 8.5 range and 0.7 Speed leave room for alternatives. Purple Widowbane / Red Widowbane Both combine 9.5 range with 7 scaling and 14 damage. That gives them the reach of most Heavy weapons and a strong scaling profile, making them promising spacing-focused picks. Heavy Weapons Mournblade An excellent damage package with 22 damage, 7 scaling, and 9.5 range. Its 0.55 Speed value is higher than Ceremonial Greataxe's, while sacrificing only one point of listed damage. Ceremonial Greataxe The highest listed damage of all 53 weapons at 23, alongside 7 scaling. A leading candidate for heavy individual hits, with its lower Speed value being the main statistical trade-off against Mournblade. Bone Reaper Trades some damage for 10 range and the highest Heavy Speed value, 0.625. Its 19 damage and 6 scaling remain competitive, giving it one of the most interesting overall profiles in the category. |
| A | Light Weapons Elderthorne A close alternative to Luminous Thorn: 14 damage, the same 9 range and 6 scaling, and a higher 0.835 Speed value. It could move into S if that Speed difference meaningfully improves its attack timing. It is also craftable. Medium Weapons Blue Mystbloom Staff / Pink Mystbloom Staff Strong 16 damage and 6 scaling, with slightly more range than Balmung at 8.75. Their 0.67 Speed value is at the bottom of the Medium category, making attack timing an important comparison. Dragnipur / Skullspire Blade Promising alternatives for their higher Speed values. Dragnipur has 15 damage, 5 scaling, and 0.765 Speed; Skullspire Blade trades one damage for 6 scaling and 0.775 Speed. Both have 8.5 range. Wayfarer's Scimitar Its 13 damage is modest, but 7 scaling gives it a reason to stay on your radar. A worthwhile option from proficiency 4, with its long-term position depending on how strongly proficiency affects damage. Cinderblade Offers 15 damage and 6 scaling at proficiency 5. It shares Balmung's range and Speed but loses two damage. A solid craftable alternative while working toward stronger options. Purple Hachiman / Red Hachiman Both provide 14 damage and 0.75 Speed at proficiency 4. Their 5 scaling trails several competitors, but they offer a useful balance of starting damage and Speed. Heavy Weapons Elkstrider / Wanderer's Edge Identical supplied stats: 21 damage, 6 scaling, 9.5 range, and 0.52 Speed. Both are strong, craftable damage options, although Mournblade and Ceremonial Greataxe have better damage and scaling. Primeval Battleaxe Combines 20 damage with the joint-highest range of 10. Its 0.5 Speed value is the lowest in the roster, leaving Bone Reaper as the more appealing comparison for attack tempo. Crafting may make it a useful target. Executioner's Axe / Highland Axe Both combine 9.5 range, 6 scaling, and 0.575 Speed. Executioner's Axe has 20 damage; Highland Axe has 19 and is usable at proficiency 3. Highland is particularly impressive as an early upgrade. |
| B | Light Weapons Arachne's Venom Fang A usable craftable option with 12 damage, 5 scaling, and 7.75 range. Bloodthorne has better damage, scaling, and Speed. No poison effect is established by these stats, despite the name. Skullsplitter / Winding Thorn Both offer 9 range, 5 scaling, and 0.8 Speed. Skullsplitter has 11 damage against Winding Thorn's 10. Useful reach-focused upgrades, but Elderthorne and Luminous Thorn have stronger damage profiles. Bronze Ironclad Gauntlets / Rose Ironclad Gauntlets Perfectly usable at 11 damage, but Clover Gauntlets are a major numerical upgrade at the same proficiency requirement. Both Ironclad versions share identical supplied stats. Eldrean Sickle A tentative lower-B placement. Its 9 damage and 0.925 Speed give it some appeal, but the listed range of 4 is a major concern. That unusual value and its moveset need checking before a firm verdict. Medium Weapons Katana The standout scaling gamble among early weapons: 7 scaling at proficiency requirement 2. Its 9 starting damage holds it back here, but it could deserve a higher position once the scaling formula is understood. Gold Trishula / Silver Trishula Both have 12 damage, 9.5 range, and 5 scaling. Solid reach for a developing build, with Widowbane offering a stronger damage and scaling combination. Vulcan's Spear / Kamo Spear Their 9.5 range is the main attraction. Vulcan's Spear has 11 damage and 0.725 Speed; Kamo Spear has 9 damage and 0.7 Speed. Both are reasonable stepping stones beyond Rustic Spear. Vulcan's Cutlass / Assembly Blade Both have 10 damage and 8.5 range. Vulcan's Cutlass has the better scaling and slightly higher Speed, while Assembly Blade has a lower proficiency requirement. Useful upgrades rather than final targets. Eldritch Staff A lower-B progression pick with 9 damage, 4 scaling, and 8.75 range. The Mystbloom Staves retain its range and Speed while substantially improving damage and scaling. Heavy Weapons Carnage Cleaver / Splinterspike Identical combat stats, including 18 damage, 7 scaling, and 9.5 range. Their scaling is appealing, but Mournblade and Ceremonial Greataxe pair that same scaling with substantially higher damage. Buster Sword / Vulcan's Greatsword Usable early Heavy options. Buster Sword has 17 damage and 6 scaling; Vulcan's Greatsword has 16 damage, 5 scaling, and a slightly higher Speed value. Highland Axe is the stronger statistical comparison at the same requirement. Mourning Edge / Claymore Both retain the category's useful 9.5 range. Mourning Edge has 15 damage and 6 scaling; Claymore has 13 damage and 5 scaling. Fine progression weapons, but their damage falls behind the stronger Heavy options. |
| C | Light Weapons Assembly Fang / Vulcan's Knife / Vulcan's Rapier Early upgrades with limited long-term damage and scaling. Vulcan's Rapier at least offers 9 range, but all three face much stronger options as proficiency increases. Dull Dagger / Dull Gauntlets / Dull Rapier Proficiency-1 equipment with only 5-6 damage and 3 scaling. Use them to get started, then upgrade when a suitable replacement becomes available. Medium Weapons Legendary Kata / Novice Blade / Rustic Spear All three have 6 damage and 3 scaling. Rustic Spear stands out for its 9.5 range, but these remain starter-level damage profiles. Legendary Kata's name does not give it an endgame stat line. Heavy Weapons Dull Longsword Its 9 damage and 9.5 range are respectable for starting out, but 3 scaling and the damage gap to later Heavy weapons make it an early replacement. |
Which Starting Weapon Should You Choose in Clover RPG?
Speak to Chief Farris in Kamo Village, then visit Vulcan, the blacksmith, to choose one starting reward:
- Gauntlets: The Light option for a punching-focused moveset.
- Novice Blade: A Medium sword.
- Longsword: The Heavy starting option.
- Rustic Spear: A Medium weapon focused on thrusts and jabs.
Rustic Spear is my current Medium recommendation for its reach. Its 9.5 range exceeds Novice Blade’s 8.5, while both have 6 damage and 3 scaling. Choose Longsword if you want to pursue Heavy weapons, or Gauntlets if the Light punching moveset appeals to you. Also, keep in mind that the tutorial labels its rewards “Gauntlets” and “Longsword.” They appear to correspond to Dull Gauntlets and Dull Longsword, but I still need to confirm this.

Best Light Weapons in Clover RPG
Clover Gauntlets
Clover Gauntlets are the first Light weapon I would consider for a serious melee build. They have 18 damage and 7 proficiency scaling, while requiring only proficiency 5. The comparison with Bronze and Rose Ironclad Gauntlets is particularly favorable. Both Ironclad versions have 11 damage and 5 scaling, but share Clover Gauntlets’ range, Speed, and proficiency requirement. That is a substantial upgrade without needing to reach a higher requirement.
Their main stat limitation is, of course, reach. 8.25 range is shorter than the rapiers’ 9, so they do not win every comparison. Their unusual strength also makes confirming the stats and acquisition method a priority.
Bloodthorne
Bloodthorne is the more interesting pick if you want a high Speed value alongside strong scaling. It combines 13 damage, 7 scaling, and 0.925 Speed. It sacrifices damage and reach to Clover Gauntlets, so its value depends on how effectively its attacks use that Speed advantage.
Faster, reliable strings could be valuable for applying pressure and building Lesser Demon’s melee stacks, but the actual hit timing needs testing. One thing I want to note: Do not assume Bloodthorne applies bleed. The name is doing plenty of work already; it does not need an invented passive.
Luminous Thorn and Elderthorne
These are the closest Light-weapon comparisons near the top of the list. Luminous Thorn has 15 damage, while Elderthorne has 14. Both have 9 range and 6 scaling. Elderthorne has higher Speed (0.835 vs 0.8) and requires proficiency 6 instead of 7. I gave Luminous Thorn the narrow edge in damage, but attack-timing tests could easily change that. Elderthorne is worth keeping on your shortlist, especially since it is craftable.

Best Medium Weapons in Clover RPG
Balmung
Balmung leads the Medium category with 17 damage, backed by 6 scaling. It is the clearest benchmark if you want to compare how hard a Medium weapon hits. It does not lead the category in range, scaling, or Speed, though. Its proficiency requirement of 8 also means you will need something else along the way. Cinderblade is a reasonable earlier comparison: it has the same 8.5 range, 6 scaling, and 0.7 Speed, with 15 damage at proficiency 5.
Purple Widowbane and Red Widowbane
Widowbane’s combination of 9.5 range and 7 scaling earns its place near the top. That range matches most Heavy weapons. For a Medium build, it makes Widowbane worth investigating if you care about spacing and reaching an opponent without moving as close. The important follow-up is whether its attacks consistently make use of that reach. A range value alone cannot tell us how forgiving the hitbox is or how easily a moving target escapes the swing.
Dragnipur and Skullspire Blade
These deserve attention if Balmung’s stat profile does not suit your preferred pace. Dragnipur has 15 damage and 0.765 Speed. Skullspire Blade has 14 damage and 0.775 Speed, with Skullspire also gaining a scaling point over Dragnipur. They sacrifice some starting damage for higher Speed values. Whether that trade produces safer pressure or better damage during short openings comes down to their actual attack animations.

Best Heavy Weapons in Clover RPG
Mournblade and Ceremonial Greataxe
Mournblade and Ceremonial Greataxe are my leading Heavy damage picks. Ceremonial Greataxe has 23 damage, the highest figure in the entire roster. Mournblade sits just behind at 22. Both have 7 scaling, 9.5 range, and 7 weight.
Mournblade’s higher Speed value and lower proficiency requirement make the comparison close. You are giving up one damage for a potentially more useful attack tempo, rather than accepting a major damage loss. For now, both belong in S tier. Their critical attacks and recovery windows should decide which one fits your build better.
Bone Reaper
Bone Reaper offers the most interesting alternative to the biggest damage numbers. It has 19 damage, 10 range, and the highest Heavy Speed value at 0.625. Primeval Battleaxe shares its range, scaling, weight, and proficiency requirement, but has 20 damage and 0.5 Speed. Bone Reaper gives up only one damage in that comparison while gaining a much higher Speed value.
That makes it a priority for practical testing. If the Speed difference translates into noticeably better attack timing, Bone Reaper could be preferable in situations where landing and recovering from a hit matters more than maximizing one swing.
Best Early Weapon Upgrades
Highland Axe is the standout early Heavy option on the supplied stats. At proficiency requirement 3, it offers 19 damage, 6 scaling, and 9.5 range. It is just one damage behind Executioner’s Axe, which requires proficiency 5 and otherwise matches those combat values.
For Medium weapons, Katana and the Hachiman variants deserve a look. Katana has only 9 damage, but its 7 scaling at proficiency requirement 2 is unusually high. The Hachiman variants offer a more immediate 14 damage at proficiency 4.
For a Light build, Winding Thorn offers 9 range at proficiency 3, while Clover Gauntlets become a major target at proficiency 5. These are upgrade candidates, not confirmed farming routes. We still need reliable acquisition details before deciding which is fastest or cheapest to obtain.
Best Races and Traits for Weapon Builds
Lesser Demon has the strongest stated physical-damage ceiling among the races we have covered. Wrath Unbound adds 2.5% physical damage per melee hit landed without being hit, up to 10 stacks.
That rewards reliable attacks and clean defense. It does not automatically make the fastest-looking weapon the best choice: reach, recovery, and your ability to avoid retaliation also determine whether you can maintain pressure.
Eldritch offers a smaller, unconditional 2.5% physical-damage bonus, alongside extra Health and Resolve. It is a more straightforward option if you do not want your racial damage benefit tied to a melee streak.
This final part of my Clover RPG Weapon covers traits. For traits, prioritize the attacks you actually use:
- Weapons Expert: Grants 50% faster weapon proficiency gain, useful while progressing toward equipment requirements.
- Liver Shot: Increases Misdirect damage by 20%.
- Follow Through: Grants a brief speed boost after landing Misdirect.
- Deceptive Momentum: Allows another roll after landing Misdirect.
- Critical Aerial: Makes aerial M2 block-break.
- Graceful Escape: Increases dodge frames by 10%, supporting the defense needed to stay aggressive.
Flame also has a direct connection to weapon pressure: Amplified Wrath increases M1 damage against burning targets. That makes landing weapon attacks after applying fire worth exploring, although the bonus amount and damage-stacking rules remain unclear.
