Evomon features tons of systems, like creature collection, exploration, and even dungeons all under one progression system, and the sheer number of overlapping mechanics like Ascension, Index completion, Talents, Natures, Skills, can feel overwhelming if you don't know what to prioritize at each stage. So, to help you progress correctly throughout the game, this guide walks through all phases of the game so you know exactly what to focus on at each point.

How Do You Progress in the Early Game in Evomon?

The early game (Level 0 to Level 30) is about building a foundational team that can carry you into mid-game without forcing you to backtrack and re-grind levels. This includes picking the right starter and matching your team to each island's dominant type.

Choose Bubble as Your Starter

Your journey begins by choosing between Bubble (Water), Blazpup (Fire), and Leafbun (Grass). Bubble is the strongest pick for early progression as Verdant Valley is filled with Rock and Ground-type Evomon that are weak to Water attacks, and the first Island Boss shares that same weakness.

The first World Boss is Fire-type as well, making Bubble's Water typing valuable from the very start. If you pick a different starter, you should prioritize catching a Water-type Evomon as soon as possible to cover the same matchups.

Typically in the first few hours of the game, you need to clear Verdant Valley, head into Petal Pond, where most enemies are Normal-type. Water attacks deal neutral damage here, so Bubble remains a decent choice. This island is also the best place to catch Clampip, a Water-type Evomon worth adding before moving on.

Lava Crag is a the third island and is Fire-themed where your Water-focused team holds a significant elemental advantage. By the time you reach Amber Acres, your Water-type Evomon will start struggling. This is the point to add a Fire-type Evomon like Sparkit or Lavite are good picks, since Fire-types counter the Grass-types you'll encounter here.

TIP: Among the first few islands, you can catch quite a few top tier Evomons like Lavite. If you want to check out which ones to look out for, check out our complete Evomon Tier List.

Increase Your Level

One of your main goals for your early game progression should be your player level. Since it determines when you can perform Ascensions and Evolutions. AFK grinding only rewards creature EXP, not Player EXP, so make sure to prioritize activities that specifically grant Player EXP:

  • Catching new Evomon
  • Catching Shiny variants of Evomons
  • Completing Daily Quests
  • Completing Lilian Quests
  • Defeating NPC Trainers and Island Bosses for the first time

Level 30 is your first major power spike. Once you hit it, your Evomon unlocks its Ultimate Ability, giving access to powerful attacks. Timing your Ultimate correctly during boss fights becomes one of the most important combat skills going forward.

How Do You Progress in the Mid Game in Evomon?

Once your Ultimate is unlocked and your first Ascension is complete, the focus shifts to EXP farming, equipment, and expanding your team's coverage. The mid game (Level 30 to Level 90) is the stage where daily routines start to matter more than one-off story progress.

Farm the EXP Dungeon

The EXP Challenge Area inside Petal Pond should become your daily habit. Every 24 hours, you get 2 free challenge tickets, each rewarding a Large EXP Fruit worth 10,000 EXP on successful completion. This is one of the most consistent EXP sources in the entire mid-game.

Farm the Exchange Merchant

Repeatedly defeating a boss you can handle easily is another strong leveling strategy. Travel to Summon Ruins 1 Island, where you can summon any boss of your choice using Summon Tickets. Every victory rewards roughly 20 Battle Tokens, which can be exchanged with the Exchange Merchant for Large EXP Fruits.

Unlock a Flying Mount

Ground mounts help with your travel speed, but a Flying Mount transforms your overall move across all maps. To unlock this, you need to defeat the King of Flying boss to obtain Sundercrene (your first basic flying mount), then press R to fly once it's equipped.

Use Weather to Your Advantage

The weather in Evomon changes every 15 minutes and directly affects your battles, strengthening or weakening specific elemental types. In the mid-game, which is more about min-maxing, using the weather conditions to your advantage before challenging difficult bosses can make a meaningful difference in how the fight goes, especially against World Bosses were your damage dealt matters a lot.

Visit the Traveling Merchant

Regularly check for the Secret Traveling Merchant near campfires on every island. His inventory includes limited time rare drops like Large EXP Fruits, Evolution Stones, and Omni Stones.

Grind the Equipment Dungeon

Another major progression step during the mid game is unlocking the Equipment Dungeon on Silent Sands Island at Level 40. Once you hit that threshold, you need to grind this dungeon regularly. It's also one of the required quests for completing Ascend 4.

How Do You Progress in the Late Game in Evomon?

The Late game (Level 90+) in Evomon is about squeezing maximum value out of your existing team rather than chasing new content. Index completion, evolution materials, Shiny hunting, and stat optimization all come together here to prepare you for the toughest bosses and raids in the game.

Complete Your Evomon Index

Your Player Rank stays important even in late game. You need to keep catching new Evomon and evolving new forms to fill out your Index. Every new discovery rewards Player EXP. Higher-level zones like Silent Sands and Canyon Oasis are good places to find species you're still missing.

Gather Evolution Materials

In the Late-game evolutions require Elemental Evolution Stones, which drop from Trainer NPCs. If you can't get a specific stone, you can substitute it with 12 Omni Stones instead. But do note that Omni Stones one of the most valuable resources to stockpile heading into the Level 100s.

Hunt Shiny and Prismatic Mutations

In this stage of your progression, you also need to start optimizing your strongest Evomon. This starts with getting Shiny variants that provide real stat increases on top of a unique appearance, while Prismatic mutations are purely cosmetic with no combat benefit.

Prismatic150 copies of the same EvomonNo

Optimize Talents, Natures, and Gear

Once your team is fully evolved, you also need to focus on optimizing Talents, Natures, and equipment. You need to go for S, SS, or SSS-ranked Talents, reroll Natures that match your intended build, and pick up high-tier equipment from the Main City for permanent stat bonuses.

Farm the Summon Ruins

You also need to spend the Summon Tickets you've collected from bosses at the Summon Ruins to repeatedly challenge endgame bosses. These fights reward exclusive materials and progression resources needed for advanced evolution upgrades that aren't available anywhere else.

Participate in Main City Activities

The Main City is the primary endgame hub, hosting Raids, the Tower, and the World Boss. Since the World Boss is Fire-type, the Water-focused team you built from the start of the game remains one of the strongest options for these fights.

NOTE: The Tower is one of the toughest late game stages. You can actually test out how strong your team is by pushing through its floors.
