What are Attributes in Cursed Gear

In Cursed Gear, there are six primary attributes, and each one defines specific aspects of your character's combat effectiveness. Based on your choice of Clan, Gear, and Technique, choosing how to allocate your Attribute points will be essential when you want to min-max your build and create an optimal stat distribution. Here are all the attributes and what they do:

IMPORTANT NOTE: This guide is a work in progress. It was partially made using available info and numbers from game testing ahead of release, and as such, some numbers and/or effects may change. We will follow any balance changes closely, and as soon as something changes, we will make sure to update our article.

AttributePrimary EffectPlaystyle & Hidden Effects
PhysicalityIncreases melee (M1/M2) damage.Physicality is great for:
• M1/M2 pressure
• Melee confirms
• Close-range punishes
• Sword or grab-based offense
• Combos that are mostly physical rather than technique-centric
DurabilityIncreases maximum Health (HP).Durability matters for builds that:
• Recover HP
• Play around low-HP bonuses
• Spend longer in melee
• Need time for delayed value to pay off
• Use forms, dummies, or survivability gimmicks
OutputIncreases Cursed Technique damage.
Slightly increases your stamina reserves.
Output is the primary offensive stat for technique-based damage:
• Projectile damage
• Blast damage
• Trap/zone damage
• Summoned damage
• Clone/special-skill damage
• Bar-consuming cursed energy attacks
EfficiencyIncreases stamina reserves.
Slightly increases the damage of your techniques.
Efficiency becomes especially important when the build:
• Drains cursed energy/technique bar over time
• Needs longer uptime
• Wants more repeated skill use
• Values stamina economy for blocking, movement, or extended pressure
AwarenessDecreases the amount of stamina damage taken on block.
Increases the stamina damage of your attacks.
Increases True Black Flash chance.
Awareness is excellent on the builds that:
• Block/parry often
• Want guard break/posture pressure
• Route into Black Flash or True Black Flash
• Thrive on extended close-range exchanges
DexterityIncreases movement speed.Dexterity becomes very strong when the build’s value depends on:
• Spacing
• Chasing
• Disengaging
• Stealth entry/exit
• Landing movement-based mixups
• Converting speed into actual pressure

How to Increase Attributes in Cursed Gear

Time is the main progression currency in Cursed Gear, and among other things, you will use Time to increase your Attributes. You earn Unstored Time during Expeditions by completing missions and fending off invaders. To keep it, you must successfully extract; if you fail to do so, all Unstored Time is lost on death.

Once stored, it becomes Stored Time, which can then be spent at Time Machines (in the hub) to level up the character and earn Attribute Points. Your overall level is the sum of invested Time. Increasing an Attribute also increases your overall level. On top of it, there's also a grade system (F1 through SS5) that governs how attributes scale, including soft caps at specific points.

PRO TIP: Time investment is exponential. That means that investing a large amount of Time at once (e.g., 500) gives significantly more EXP than multiple small investments (e.g., five 100-Time investments). Large lump-sum Time investments are more efficient than fragmented spending.

In addition to Attribute Points you earn from leveling up, you'll also receive Stat-Packs every 25 levels. This allows you to boost a specific attribute by 25 points without increasing your character level. At the current level cap of 150, you will have 300 total Attribute Points at your disposal (150 from natural levels and 150 from Stat-Packs).

PRO TIP: Common Clans are generally bad, but they provide a 25% buff to EXP gain, which is phenomenal for early-game grinding, allowing you to reach Level 25 (an important milestone) faster and earn more Attribute Points in the process.

Cursed Gear Cybernetics Attribute Buffs

Aside from leveling up your character, there are other ways of increasing your base Attributes. These mostly come in the form of buffs you earn from Cybernetics. In fact, the buffs and debuffs you get from these can be build-defining, and it is essential to understand how they define your overall playstyle and build direction.

Cybernetics Attribute Buffs & Interactions

Many of the Cybernetics items in Cursed Gear directly or indirectly interact with your Attributes. Many directly buff properties of your character (such as Health and Movement Speed) that are governed by a specific Attribute, meaning they are essentially buffing that Attribute. Others scale their power based on the strength of a specific Attribute. Here are all the buffs and interactions between Cybernetics and Attributes:

Output Buffs & Interactions

  • Entropy Vents (Active): A strong pick for Technique-focused builds. When activated, your M1 attacks scale with Output instead of Physicality for a short duration, at the cost of consuming part of your Technique Bar.
  • 200% Output (Active): Cuts all skill cooldowns in half for 10 seconds, effectively doubling your ability output.

Dexterity (Movement Speed) Buffs & Interactions

  • Afterimage Step Replicator (Passive): Increases your sprinting speed based on your Dexterity, activated by double-tapping W while holding E.
  • Neural Slipstream (Passive): Using Curse Dodge in sync with nearby allies will increase the move speed of the user and others
  • Stalker (Passive): Boosts your movement speed when your opponent is low on health.

Efficiency (Stamina) Buffs & Interactions

  • Assault Loop Engine (Passive): Restores additional stamina every four hits, encouraging aggressive play.
  • Effortless (Passive): Lowers the stamina cost of your M1 and M2 attacks.
  • Energized (Passive): Boosts stamina recovery when you successfully parry.
  • Neuro-Pacing Module (Active): Temporarily eliminates stamina consumption, but all saved stamina is drained at once when the effect ends, potentially causing a guard break.
  • Biofeedback Relay (Passive): Converts incoming damage into stamina when your reserves are low.

Durability (Health) Buffs & Interactions

  • Steel Bones (Passive): A powerful defensive tool that ensures single-hit attacks cannot deal more than 10% of your maximum health, effectively capping high-burst damage.
  • Monocyte Breeder Mk. 3 (Active): Allows you to regenerate lost health and limbs at the cost of your Technique Bar.
  • Red Veil System (Passive): When your health drops to 15%, damage taken is delayed by approximately two seconds, giving you a window to counter-attack or heal.
  • Overclock (Passive): Reduces skill cooldowns by 25% whenever you are low on health.
  • Steel Skin (Passive): Increases your resistance to limb severance.

Cybernetic Orbs Buffs & Debuffs

Cybernetic Orbs are earned as random loot drops during expeditions. You can obtain them as rewards for completing missions, from defeating enemies (PvP and PvE), as loot from chests, or simply by finding them in the open world. These will grant you a random Cybernetic item, but more importantly, they will assign a random Attribute buff and debuff to that Cybernetic upon acquisition

This creates an interesting dynamic where you can further push your build in a specific direction at the cost of degrading another, potentially less important Attribute. Is it worth the trade-off? That’s up to you to decide.

Cursed Gear Clan Attribute Buffs

Clans are another important aspect of your build, and the hardest to get right due to their gacha mechanics (you cannot simply choose a Clan). We've already mentioned that Common Clans are great for the early game due to their massive EXP gain buff, but what about other Clans and their interaction with Attributes? Here's what you should know.

RELATED: Cursed Gear Clan Tier List – Best Clans & Reroll Guide

Cursed Gear Royal Buff

The most important thing to stress here is that if you obtain a Royal Clan, one random Attribute gets a 10% scaling buff and is highlighted in gold. This is not a flat stat increase; it is a scaling buff, which matters more for builds that already lean heavily into that Attribute. That’s because, in a way, it bypasses soft caps due to being a scaling buff (not just a flat 10% increase).

  • A random Royal buff on your core stat is a real build-shaping moment.
  • A random Royal buff on an off-stat may push you toward a hybrid build instead of a pure one.

Clan Attribute (Stat) Buffs & Interactions

  • Todo (Unique): The main attribute-scaling Clan in Cursed Gear, granting a 5% increase to both Physicality and Durability, and a small flat buff, while becoming larger in size.
  • Gojo (Royal): Specializes in Cursed Energy stats, boosting Technique Energy and Regeneration, both of which scale with Output and Efficiency.
  • Yoshino (Rare): Grants +5 movement speed (tied to Dexterity) for 7 seconds after landing an M1 attack.
  • Heavenly Restriction (1% Clan Roll): Although more of a clan extension, it provides a massive boost to Efficiency (stamina) while completely removing the benefits of Output, as the user has no Cursed Energy.
  • Kamo (Royal): Adds Lifesteal to M1 attacks, restoring a portion of max HP based on your Durability.
  • Panda (Unique): Provides 6% passive damage reduction and allows you to restore 2% of max HP by consuming bamboo, further enhancing high-Durability builds.
  • Nishimiya (Unique): Introduces a Berserker-style mechanic, increasing damage by up to 10% as HP decreases. This pairs well with high Durability, since low HP is less risky when your total health pool is larger.
  • Hazenoki (Rare): Sword M1 and M2 attacks deal 10% increased damage, but also increase the posture damage you take by 10%. To counteract this anti-synergy, you can invest more into Awareness (which decreases stamina damage taken on block).

Awareness amplifies the stamina damage (guard pressure) and improves extended exchanges where Executioner thrives.
• Multiple offensive melee follow-ups
• Grab on knocked opponents
• Repeated strike patterns
unblockable upgrade on Overwhelm at 8+
• Jumps cost no stamina, which slightly reduces the pressure to stack Efficiency first

Efficiency extends stamina/energy usage, letting you sustain ability-heavy play longer
• Energy Blast
• Energy Burst while blocking
• Telekinesis
• Grand Energy Axiom
• Levitation and cursed-energy-centric identity
ProjectorDexterity directly amplifies speed, which is core to Projector’s teleport/rushdown identity.
• Output powers Curse Blitz and Vanishing Rush, both of which are Cursed Energy-dependent.
• Speed-focused rushdown
• Relies on teleportation and instant dashes
• Pressure comes from getting in fast and staying on top of opponents
• Fakeout and blitz tools are contact-oriented
Ravager• Awareness boosts Black Flash consistency and parry-based triggers (key to Divergent Flame).
Physicality strengthens all close-range bursts during flame-enhanced states.
• Divergent Flame triggers on Black Flash or parry
• Divergent Step gains iframes while Divergent Flame is active
• TRASH and Sweep get EX versions during flame state

HydraOutput fits multi-hit or summoned damage patterns.
Efficiency supports continuous or repeated ability usage.

• Physicality
• The skill list (Blade Blast, Crescent Slash, Crescent Crusher, Divergent Armament) has a mixed energy/physical damage kit.
