Glowstick Entertainment and MiniToon to collab for new Piggy x Dark Deception crossover

Sparked by a KreekCraft tweet posted on Jan. 8, 2022, the rumors surrounding a Piggy x Dark Deception collab have officially been confirmed. This collab, which will likely see fan-favorite characters from the Roblox horror experience Piggy added to the non-Roblox horror game Dark Deception as downloadable skins, lacks a release date at the time of this article's publication, however it can be expected to debut sometime in 2022. Upon release, this collaborative project will likely take the title of being one of the first, if not the first, major video game crossovers with an individual Roblox experience.

In a virtual Q&A streamed on YouTube, Dark Deception creator Vince Livings was asked about the possibility of collaborating with Roblox developers to create a Roblox horror experience crossover with Monsters & Mortals, Dark Deception's sister game. To many fan's excitement, Livings responded encouragingly to the idea, stating that horror is more than just the big names like Silent Hill or Resident Evil—successful horror thrives on incorporating aspects from across the genre.

"I know Piggy has made a big impact on Roblox, and [that] it has a lot of fans, so I'm definitely open to that," said Livings. "I'm not going to close the door on them just because they're Roblox...we don't shut the door on anybody if they've earned it."

Livings continued on to discuss his appreciation for horror fans, and specifically those tailored to his own games, voicing affirmations that their opinions are highly considered when looking at future updates and decisions.

Since this Q&A, and CreekKraft's tweet bringing attention to it, Piggy fans have exploded with support for the collaboration on Twitter, whereas Monster & Mortals fans seem more skeptical, or fully against it.

Some Monsters & Mortals fans, while not completely familiar with Piggy, can understand why the collab is in talks from a business perspective, as bringing aspects from Piggy into the Dark Deception world would open up many doors for new players, engagements, and overall game traffic.

On Jan. 10, 2022, Glowstick Entertainment, the development team behind Dark Deception and Monsters & Mortals, tweeted "Let's make it happen!" in response to a teasing tweet from MiniToon, the creator of Piggy, solidifying the collaboration rumors for fans. Now, Roblox and Dark Deception players are left to wait for more information including an official release date, collab details, and more.
