What happened to Wacky Wizards?

If you're a fan of the chaotic, potion-creating experience Wacky Wizards, chances are you've noticed the lack of updates recently, and have wondered what's happened to the previous update schedule. What started as Wacky Wednesdays, then moved to Wacky Weekends, then went back to Wacky Wednesdays, is now Wacky...never? Continue reading below for a brief breakdown of the Wacky Wizards update timeline, and to learn more about the future of the experience.

When is Wacky Wizards updated?

As mentioned above, the Wacky Wizards update schedule has changed multiple times since its release in 2021. Originally, updates came out every Wednesday at 4pm CT—then, they were pushed to every Wednesday at 5pm CT and stayed that way for multiple months. After a while, Wacky Wednesdays were changes to Wacky Weekends, and updates were set to debut on Fridays/Saturdays instead of Wednesdays. Due to mass amounts of backlash from the community, however, this change was quickly reverted, and updates were back to taking place on Wednesdays.

But, before fans could rejoice about this return to normalcy, it was also announced that, while updates would go back to Wednesdays, they would be lessened to once every two weeks instead of once a week due to the developers, Foryxe and Jandel, needing more time to work on other experiences. This announcement and change, as expected, was not received well by fans, and by fall of 2022, updates were fully reverted to their original schedule—once a week, every Wednesday.

That is until the October 26, 2022, update was released, which added the final Halloween-themed ingredient, the Evil Head. After this update, and a small announcement via Discord in which Jandel stated that the Halloween map would be reverted in mid November, Wacky Wizards went radio silent—no more updates, no more announcements, no more anything. The experience sat seemingly abandoned for two months, until, in January 2023, it was announced that Wacky Races, an experience that can only be accessed through Wacky Wizards, would be participating in Roblox Battles Season 3. Even with this collab, however, the parent experience remained untouched and, in result, unpopular.

At the time of this article's publication, no news regarding a future Wacky Wizards update has been discussed. If we had to guess, Wacky Wizards will, unfortunately, join the pile of experiences that have fallen into irrelevance as their developers continue to foster bigger and "better" experiences. If/when an update releases for the Wacky Wizards, however, we will be sure to let our readers know.
