After years (and years) of exploring the Roblox platform, I of all people know that it's no stranger to errors, bugs, and glitches, but that doesn't make experiencing them any less annoying—especially when they're ones that I don't even understand! When I try to search around on Google, I can't find any relevant information on the error code 901, so what does it mean, and how do I fix it? Don't worry, these questions, and more, are answered in the brief guide below.
What is error code 901 on Roblox?
Like most Roblox error codes, error code 901 can, unfortunately, occur for a multitude of reasons. Server disruptions, poor wifi connectivity, client updates—you name it, this error code could appear. In most cases, however, players only receive this error in very specific situations, and they're both related to Roblox's moderation system.
How to fix error code 901 on Roblox
Upon creating a Roblox account, players who attempt to sign up with a username that uses profanity, personal information, or doesn't meet the length/character requirements could receive error code 901. In this case, simply alter your username to remove this information (or fit the three character minimum, 20 character maximum, A-Z, 0-9 requirements) and the error should be removed.
The other time you'd most likely run into this error is when downloading and launching the Roblox app on Xbox. If the Roblox username that you're trying to connect to your Xbox gamertag is under moderation (aka banned or suspended), you will receive error code 901 and won't be able to connect the accounts.
As mentioned above, error code 901 can randomly appear for many reasons, but is typically associated with the issues highlighted above. If you receive this error code consistently, and the reasons for receiving said code don't apply to you, you may need to contact Roblox support directly and explain your situation.
