How to fix ‘Waiting for an available server’ error on Roblox

Don't worry, there's an easy fix!

Running into an error on Roblox is the worst, especially when it happens out of nowhere. In some cases (the best cases), these errors can be fixed by simply resetting your internet or deleting and redownloading the Roblox app, but in others, the issue is a bit more complex and may require help from Roblox itself.

Roblox 'Waiting for an available server?' - How to fix

Typically, this "error" appears when a server you're trying to join on Roblox is full. I use the term error loosely because there isn't something wrong with Roblox when this screen appears, so there isn't an error to be fixed—you'll simply need to try joining a different server.

If that doesn't work, I'd try closing Roblox and letting it sit for a while, and also resetting your internet, and then trying Roblox again. Clearing your device's cache and turning it off and back on couldn't hurt either; if those don't work, I'd suggest reaching out to support as soon as you can and explaining your situation.

Nearly 100% of the time you play Roblox, you'll load into an experience almost immediately with no issues—this is because Roblox purposefully places you into servers that have open slots, meaning they aren't full, or close to full, of other players. That way, you never have to worry about getting kicked out of a loading process just because someone else across the globe is trying to join the same experience as you at the exact same time.

Why does Roblox say 'Waiting for an available server'?

If you attempt to join a friend's server and it's full, you'll be faced with the "Waiting for an available server" screen, which means exactly that—Roblox can't fit you in the specific server you're trying to join, so it's trying to find a different server that you can fit in.

This process can take a while and will trigger a timer that counts how long it takes Roblox to find you a new server. Normally, this process should only take a few minutes at its maximum.

Attempting to join a friend on Roblox is when this "error" appears most often. Because the server your friend is playing in was fitted specifically for them, there isn't always room for another person (aka you) to join it.

If you run into the "Waiting for an available server" screen every time you attempt to join an experience, however, you may have an actual issue on your hands. Reach out to Roblox support for help.
