The following are some of the best tips and tricks I used during the initial stage of my campaign to win games.
Blocking the Ball
First and foremost, you should learn to deflect/block the ball consistently. The main difficulty is to predict the right time to use the deflect button. My best advice is to press the button at least two to three feet away from your body at arm's length. Initially, you will struggle with the timing. But, with time, you will get a hang of it, improving your consistency.
Selection of Champions
Instead of picking Champions or characters randomly, select ones that suit your gameplay style. For example, if you are a defensive player who wants to play slowly, unlock Luffy. On the other hand, if you are aggressive and want to mobile, Saitama is the way to go. Understand the nature of each character and put them to use.
Ball Tracking
Unlike its inspiration— Blade Ball, the moving orb in Death Ball can deflect off surfaces and players. So, always track the ball even if it is not traveling towards you. Because you never know when a ball may bounce from a surface and hit you accidentally.
Environmental Awareness
Also, be aware of your surroundings all the time, as there are a lot of hazards on each map that can chip off your health. For example, in the map with the moving chainsaw, don't get hit by it, as it will remove nearly two bars of your health.
Standoff Scenarios
To win a game of Death Ball, you must defeat your opponent in the final 1v1 encounter. The best way to consistently win in the final standoff is to study your opponent — his skillset, moves, and habits. So, when there are less than four to five players left, start learning about your opponents, and when the final battle arrives, you will know some weaknesses about your foe that you can leverage.
