How to get the free New Year Kadomatsu avatar item in Roblox

Similar to the New Year Tiger from 2022 and the Happy New Year Ox from 2021, the New Year Kadomatsu is meant to celebrate the Chinese New Year and the Chinese zodiac animal, the rabbit. This item, while free, is only available for a limited time, so it's best to follow along with our guide and claim it sooner rather than later!

How to claim the New Year Kadomatsu

• To add the New Year Kadomatsu item to your Robloxian's inventory, head to the Roblox website and select the Avatar Shop tab from the navigation menu at the top of your screen.
• Next, locate the Avatar Shop's search bar, type New Year Kadomatsu, and press Enter.
• The Avatar Shop will adjust itself to show the most relevant answers to your search. To narrow down these results even more, however, we still need to change a couple more things. First, scroll down until you see the Creator heading within the menu on the left, and type in Roblox. Then, underneath that heading, where it says Price, select Free—this will help finalize our query.
• Selecting these options should drastically lower the number of results and show us the New Year Kadomatsu item we're looking for.
• To claim this item, click on its image and select the green Get button on its page.
• To confirm claiming this item, select the Get Now button from the pop up that appears.
• The New Year Kadomatsu item should now be available in your avatar inventory! Note that this item is only claimable until January 4, 2023, so it's best to grab it sooner rather than later. Check out the image below to see what this item looks like in-game.

What does the Year of the Rabbit mean?

Each year the Chinese zodiac recognizes one of twelve sacred animals to represent the coming months and offer a look into the future—for 2023, it's the Year of the Rabbit. From January 22, 2023, to February 9, 2024, it's observed within the Chinese zodiac that those with the Rabbit sign, or those born in 2023, 2011, 1999, 1987, 1975, 1963, 1951, 1939, or 1927, will be blessed with a prosperous year of good fortune, luck, and hope. Rabbits, or those born in a Year of the Rabbit, are typically seen as very vigilant, kind, responsible, quiet, and quick-minded people.
