Nosferatu is the seventh killer added to Forsaken, a masked vampire ready to drain your blood. He has some insane mobility, which, when combined with his high-damaging and ranged skills, leaves the survivors with little hope of escaping. This guide goes over Nosferatu’s skills, advanced strategies, and how to counter them, so you're prepared to play as or against them in your matches.
Nosferatu Stats and Skills
Nosferatu might seem familiar because he was the Forsaken Masquerade event NPC who was selling you the Halloween cosmetics. Turns out he’s also the last reward that was locked until now, with you being able to purchase him for 3500 Sukkars, but only if you already unlocked 13 skins before.
He’s a pretty fast killer, able to catch up to survivors in the blink of an eye, on top of stealth abilities that make it easy to catch them unaware. This is extremely useful to ambush them, make it impossible to escape your grasp, and satiate your hunger.
| Skills | Descrption |
|---|---|
| Levitation (Passive) | You levitate across the map without making any footsteps sounds, making it easy to sneak up on the survivors if they don’t have you in their line of sight. |
| Lascerate | Your basic attack which deals 24 damage on hit with a pretty decent range. |
| Bloodhook | A ranged ability that can hit multiple survivors and pull one of them toward you. Deals a decent amount of damage if used from up close, but if used from afar, it does more damage and inflicts Helpless and Slowness III if you succeed on a time-based prompt. If you fail, the survivor is released, and you are inflicted with Helpless. |
| Cataclysm | You become invisible and dash forwards with great speed, leaving a trail behind you. After one second, you teleport back to where you started the dash and leave pools of blood in your trail. They last for 10 seconds and inflict any survivor that passes through with Bleeding III and Slowness II. |
| Hunter’s Feast | A ranged projectile that can be redirected if needed. Inflicts Oblivious and Creatures on the survivor, while giving you Invisibility and Undetectable. |
| Ascension | You leap into the air and transform into a bat, and gain the ability to fly around the map freely. You can stay transformed for up to 10 seconds, your terror radius is reduced, and your movement speed is increased. |
| Dismount | Can only be used while in bat form. You can perform a dive attack that deals massive damage and stuns the survivor if you land the hit. If you miss the attack, however, you will be inflicted with Slowness III and Helpless. |
Tips and Tricks for Playing as Nosferatu
Nosferatu is great at starting chases and quickly moving between them once you've hunted down your prey. He’s one of the stealthier killers in the game, so make sure you use that to your advantage. Here are some things to keep in mind if you want to unlock his full potential:
- Take advantage of your Bloohook range to pull in survivors trying to escape. Always try to hit them from afar in order to trigger the time-based prompt, because it will lead to a lot more damage. You’re better off using your basic attack from close-up, rather than wasting your skill, unless you know it will be the killing blow.
- Cataclysm is your main chase tool, allowing you to trap survivors and restrict your movements. It's best used when they are low on stamina, blocking their path with your pools of blood and forcing them to make an impossible choice: either go forward and get slowed down or go back and get hit by you.
- You can either use Hunter’s Feast right before hitting the survivor, so they take more damage due to the Creatures debuff, or you can be sneaky by tagging one survivor with it, then leaving them alone and using the invisibility to catch someone else off guard.
- Ascension is an amazing mobility tool that also lets you scout the map, so use it every time it's off cooldown. Dismount, on the other hand, takes some practice to master, but once you do, it's an amazing initiation skill. Make sure you approach them from behind and start your dive while still high in the air, giving them as little time as possible to notice and react.
How to Counter Nosferatu
Nosferatu can easily split your team up and take you out one by one, so you'll need to try to prevent that and work together. Some of the best ways to counter him are:
- Make sure you pay attention to your surroundings, including the sky above you, so he doesn't ambush you easily and get a free hit.
- His most dangerous skill when you start running is Cataclysm, so dodging it can be the difference between life and death. You should never run backwards when he's using it; instead, just keep going forward and try taking a less obvious path, so it's harder for him to trap you.
- Make sure to never run in a straight line for too long, making it easier to dodge his Bloodhook. It also has a pretty long wind-up animation, so pay attention to that and change directions at the last minute. If you do get caught by it, don't panic and click those button prompts as fast as possible, so he doesn't drag you all the way to him.
- Nosferatu doesn't have any abilities that help him resist stuns, so Shedletsky, with his Slash, can buy a lot of time and destroy the killer's momentum.
- Guest 1337 is an amazing counter due to his Block ability, because even though they might be hard to dodge, most of Nosferatu's skills have a wind-up animation that makes it easier to react to them with your block, which results in the killer wasting his cooldown, while you're able to run away without a worry.
Nosferatu FAQ
He'll be available after the Masquerade ends in the normal killer shop, for a currently unknown amount of in-game currency.
You get the Sukkars every time you finish a match, with more being awarded if you win. During the match, colorful candy bags will spawn across the map, awarding event currency when picked up.
He's a very fun killer to play, with a unique playstyle that will catch survivors off guard. However, all of his skills take practice to master, so he won't feel that strong when you're just getting started with him, but his kit rewards players who take the time to master him.
