We'll update this guide as soon as Trello is launched. While you're waiting for the link, visit The Forge wiki page, where you'll find the latest information about the game. The Forge Beginner's Guide - Tips & Tricks
In this guide, you'll find everything you need to know before jumping into the game. This includes combat and forging mechanics, crafting, monetization, customization, and much more. Without further ado, let's jump straight into it.
The Forge Controls - How Combat Works
Below you'll find basic The Forge controls. Keep in mind that while there is no specific weapon for parrying, you can parry an opponent by performing a perfectly timed block.
- CTRL - Shift-Lock
- Q - Dash, use it to dodge enemies and position for attacks
- Left Click - Basic Weapon Attack
- R or Right Click (in Shift-Lock) - Heavy Attack
- Shift - Sprint
- T - Open Menu
- F - Block. Perfectly timed block become a parry that briefly stuns the enemy.
How Does the Mining System Work?
The mining system is the basis of The Forge game progression. You'll be able to find over 60 unique ores that you'll need as materials for crafting. To efficiently mine, you'll need a good pickaxe. They have rune slots, so you can upgrade them, enabling you to mine higher-quality rocks with better ores. Here's how it works:
- Better pickaxes unlock the ability to break stronger rocks, which have higher chances of dropping rare and unique ores.
- Pickaxes also have a Luck Boost passive, which improves your chances of getting higher-tier ores.
- Each pickaxe has its own Mine Power stat, which is essentially how much damage it deals. Some tough rocks can only be mined with high-damage pickaxes.
- You can equip runes to pickaxes to improve their stats.

All Races in The Forge
There are 13 races in The Forge, but not all are easy to get. As you'll pull them gacha-style, it all depends on their rarity. The harder to get, the more buffs they give. To make your choice harder, most of the races have weaknesses that go with their advantages. For example, Undead has -12% health, but reflects 10% of damage taken and heals 50% of health when under 10% HP, every 5 minutes.
| Race | Rarity |
|---|---|
| Human | Common (25%) |
| Elf | Uncommon (15%) |
| Zombie | Uncommon (14%) |
| Goblin | Rare (10.5%) |
| Undead | Rare (9%) |
| Orc | Rare (8%) |
| Dwarf | Epic (7%) |
| Shadow | Epic (6%) |
| Minotaur | Legendary (1.75%) |
| Dragonborn | Legendary (1.5%) |
| Golem | Legendary (1.25%) |
| Angel | Mythical (0.5%) |
| Demon | Mythical (0.5%) |

All The Forge Weapon Types List
The Forge currently has three armor categories (helmet, chestplate, and leggings) and nine weapon types, each offering different combat styles. These weapons cannot be bought or found as loot. Rather, you can only craft them by performing The Forge forging mini-games. Here are all the weapon types you can get:
- Gauntlets - Close-range brawling
- Daggers - Fast DPS, agile strikes
- Straight Swords - Balanced all-around combat
- Axes - Heavy damage dealer
- Katanas - Swift, precise attacks
- Great Swords - Powerful two-handed weapon, strong attacks, but slow
- Great Axes - Massive damage output
- Colossal Weapons - Extreme power with very slow speed
- Scythes - Unique attack patterns
Note: Currently, the game features only the melee weapons listed above. Ranged and magical weapons are not yet in the game, but the developers have stated that they are planning to add them in future updates. In addition, many sub-types within specific classes (like various daggers) are functionally the same weapons, and only look and feel different for cosmetic purposes.
How to Customize Items With Runes
Runes are special modifications that upgrade your equipment. But to even start improving items, you must first find Runes. You can get them by defeating enemies (mobs and bosses), completing quests, and unlocking achievements. Equipment usually has up to three slots for rune upgrades. Here's how to add runes:
- Head to the Enhancer store.
- Enhance a weapon or armor you wish to add a rune to.
- Enhancing weapons and armor will unlock rune slots.
- Once you have rune slots unlocked, head to the RuneMaker.
- Select a piece of gear you want to improve with a rune.
- Select a rune you wish to add to it.
Keep in mind that this will cost you resources like gold and essence, so be prepared to grind them before heading to the vendors to upgrade your gear. Various types of essence are dropped by enemies, while gold is earned by selling items and completing quests.
How Progression Works - Level Up Perks
As you progress through the game, you'll be able to level up, which is the main way of making your character stronger and more capable of handling challenges and tougher enemies. The most important thing you'll receive when you level up is an expanded inventory capacity, which will, of course, cost you some gold. Other things you'll improve are your health and stamina.
