Sega has teamed up with Roblox to release an official Sonic experience

Gotta go fast!

For the first time in Roblox's history, an official main character from a Triple-A title will be brought to the ever-growing platform. On April 14, 2022, the fan-favorite trio of Sonic, Knuckles, and Tails will debut on Roblox inside of the Gamefam developed experience, Sonic Speed Simulator. This experience, despite costing 50 Robux to enter during its current beta stage, will be completely free to play upon its public launch.

Likely created to support the recent release of the film Sonic the Hedgehog 2, Sonic Speed Simulator was originally released for paid access on March 9, 2022 and has since garnered over 250,000 visits from eager players. Following its full release, Sonic Speed Simulator will resemble the world that fans of the video game adore, with four unique areas available to explore, including the famed Green Hill Zone.

To progress through this experience, players will need to race around the map, alone or with friends, collect various orbs, and ultimately help Sonic defeat the evil Doctor Eggman. The more steps that players take, the faster that their character will level-up and reach their max speed. To continue improving stats beyond this max, players can use the rebirth system.

Though it's unknown if this experience will offer any free, out-of-game avatar items for players to collect, there is a possibility that we'll see a handful of free, in-game, Sonic-themed items and possibly even a few paid, out-of-game avatar accessories from this collaboration.
