Updated for Slayers 2 V0.182: Firstlight Tanto is the best overall Demon Slayer weapon, while Firstlight War Fans is the best Demon weapon. Firstlight Spear, Lost Shotgun, Nightfall Katana, and Firstlight Bladed Wagasa remain top-tier alternatives, but the best choice depends on whether you value PvP pressure, PvE clearing, range, or defensive stats.
Weapons in Slayers 2 are expensive to craft, upgrade, and refine, so I rank them by what they actually give you in a fight: M1 speed, range, confirms, guard pressure, defensive frames, mobility, raw stats, and synergy with Breathing Styles or Blood Demon Arts. The main tables focus on the named progression and endgame weapons that are worth building around, rather than starter blades you replace almost immediately.
How Recent Balance Updates Changed the Slayers 2 Weapon Meta
The V0.17 balance pass hit several of the most oppressive weapon builds. Lost Shotgun's Z now knocks opponents away instead of confirming directly into X, and X only becomes invulnerable after the grab connects. Sickles lost a large chunk of Z damage, scaling, block damage, and speed. Bladed Wagasa also lost much of the stun and guard pressure that made its old strings so forgiving. All three are weaker than they were at launch, but their endgame versions still bring enough stats and utility to stay competitive.
Other changes were quieter but still important. Spear's Z uses Hyper Armor instead of i-frames, War Fans only resets Z and grants its buff after a successful counter, and all counters now share a global cooldown. Axe and Mace recovered a little speed and damage, while Scythe gained a larger Z hitbox and a Strict Stun on X's third hit. V0.182 also fixed Series weapon effects being removed by Water Breathing moves, which makes those weapons much safer to pair with Water.
The wider health buffs in V0.17 and V0.18 have also made clean confirms, guard pressure, and repeatable damage more valuable than launch-day one-shot theory. First Light and Nightfall Hunt can swing low-health exchanges, but those are armor set bonuses rather than weapon passives, so I have not used them to artificially push a Firstlight or Nightfall weapon up the list. Refinement and tier transfers make endgame gear easier to manage, but they affect progression cost rather than combat strength.
What Is the Best Weapon in Slayers 2?
Firstlight Tanto is my pick for the best Demon Slayer weapon in Slayers 2. Its fast M1s, excellent movement, combo-friendly kit, and top-end Block stats work in both PvP and PvE without forcing a narrow build. Firstlight Spear is the stronger ranged PvP specialist, while Lost Shotgun remains one of the best PvE weapons despite losing its old free Z-to-X route.
Firstlight War Fans is the best Demon weapon overall. It combines elite stats with melee, ranged, AoE, and counter utility. Firstlight Bladed Wagasa is the better farming and convenience pick thanks to Sun Immunity, but its V0.17 nerfs make its pressure less automatic against experienced players.

Best S-Tier Demon Slayer Weapons in Slayers 2
| Weapon | Stat Buffs | Why This Tier |
|---|---|---|
| Firstlight Tanto | +5.75 Damage +1.15x Damage Factor +8.3 Block Points +2.38x Block Regen +5 Max Stamina | + The best all-round Demon Slayer weapon in my V0.182 testing, with fast M1s, excellent movement, and top-end Block stats. + Its speed makes Breathing confirms easier and lets aggressive builds disengage before slower weapons can answer. + The faster Z startup keeps its pressure sharp in neutral and during combo routes. - C no longer protects the projectile throw with i-frames. The safety begins during the hit animation, so throwing it carelessly can be punished. |
| Firstlight Spear | +5.75 Damage +1.15x Damage Factor +8.1 Block Points +2.33x Block Regen +5 Max Stamina | + One of the best PvP weapons for Demon Slayers because its reach and AoE punish opponents who try to play just outside M1 range. + The quicker Z windup makes the barrage much more practical as pressure and a punish tool. + Z now has Hyper Armor through the barrage, so it can trade through interruptions, but it does not ignore incoming damage like an iframe. - The long animations demand good spacing. A blocked or whiffed commitment gives mobile players time to reset the fight. |
| Lost Shotgun | +5.75 Damage +1.15x Damage Factor +7.85 Block Points +2.29x Block Regen +5 Max Stamina | + Still one of the best PvE weapons in the game thanks to fast ranged damage, strong endgame stats, and reliable target access. + The faster Z projectile is noticeably easier to land on moving bosses and players. - Z now knocks back on the final hit, so the old automatic Z-to-X combo is gone. You need a wall, external crowd control, or a fresh read to continue. - X only gains invulnerability after the grab succeeds, while Z and C use Hyper Armor rather than i-frames. It is powerful, not a panic-button factory. |
| Nightfall Katana | +5.75 Damage +1.14x Damage Factor +6.2 Block Points +2.06x Block Regen +5 Max Stamina | + The best pure-stat Katana and the easiest S-tier blade to fit into almost any Breathing build. + Its Damage, Damage Factor, Block Points, and Block Regen all improve the parts of a build you use in every fight. + It has no awkward weapon-specific gimmick to manage, which makes it extremely consistent in PvP, bosses, and farming. - The 1,000,000 Wen craft cost is brutal, and it offers less unique utility than Tanto, Spear, or Shotgun. |
Best A-Tier Demon Slayer Weapons in Slayers 2
| Weapon | Stat Buffs | Why This Tier |
|---|---|---|
| Firstlight Sound Cleavers | +4 Damage +1.15x Damage Factor +6.9 Block Points +2.7x Block Regen +5 Max Stamina | + A Block-heavy Katana perfect for defensive players. + Gives the highest Block Points increase as well as the highest Block Regen buff. + Only falls short of the Nightfall Katana because of the slightly lower Damage buff. |
| Firstlight Insect Katana | +4 Damage +1.15x Damage Factor +3.95 Block Points +2.13x Block Regen +5 Max Stamina +1.12x Movement Speed Factor +1.1x Stamina Regen Speed | + Adds a handy Damage buff to your build. + The Movement Speed and Stamina Regen buff is a huge quality-of-life upgrade. + Decent Block buff (Go for the Firstlight Katana if you want higher Block buffs and don’t mind losing the Movement Speed and Stamina Regen buff). |
| Nightfall Serpent Katana | +3.5 Damage +1.17x Damage Factor +4.6 Block Points +2.04x Block Regen +5 Max Stamina | + V0.182 restored part of its earlier nerf, bringing it to +3.5 Additional Damage and a 1.17x Damage Factor. + It remains a strong Serpent progression target and keeps useful Block and Stamina stats. + The V0.182 Series weapon fix means Water skills no longer strip its weapon effect if you run an off-meta Water pairing. - It still trails Nightfall Katana in broad value, so this is an A-tier specialist rather than the default endgame sword. |
Best B-Tier Demon Slayer Weapons in Slayers 2
| Weapon | Stat Buffs | Why This Tier |
|---|---|---|
| Volcanic Katana | +4 Damage +1.07x Damage Factor +4.05 Block Points +1.55x Block Regen | + Very good when used with Flame Breathing. + Decent Damage and Block buffs. - The buffs eventually fall short, and the weapon starts feeling weak when you reach end-game content. |
| Reverb Cleavers | +4 Damage +1.07x Damage Factor +4.05 Block Points +1.5x Block Regen | + The go-to V2 Katana for Sound Breathing Style users early on. + Decent stats all around. + Required to get the Firstlight Sound Cleavers. |
| Tidal Katana | +2.5 Damage +1.08x Damage Factor +4.5 Block Points +2.15x Block Regen | + This is the V2 of the Water Katana and feels like a huge upgrade. + The Block buff is the highest out of all the elemental Katanas, making it excellent for PvE. - Falls short in the Damage department, which means you’ll struggle in PvP fights. |
| Tornadic Katana | +4 Damage +1.07x Damage Factor +3.75 Block Points +1.4x Block Regen | + A balanced midgame upgrade with solid Damage and Block stats rather than one standout number. + Wind Breathing gained much better guard pressure in V0.182, which makes the full Wind setup more threatening than it was at launch. + It is a practical bridge toward stronger Series weapons without forcing a completely different playstyle. - The weapon itself did not receive an endgame stat jump, so it still falls behind Firstlight and Nightfall choices. |
C-Tier Demon Slayer Weapons in Slayers 2
| Weapon | Stat Buffs | Why This Tier |
|---|---|---|
| Thundercloud Katana | +2.5 Damage +1.08x Damage Factor +2.8 Block Points +1.7x Movement Speed Factor +1.09x Stamina Regen Speed | + Decent early-to-midgame Katana. + The Movement Speed and Stamina Regen buff is extremely useful early on. - Lacks the Damage boost for end-game content. |
| Butterfly Katana | +2.5 Damage +1.08x Damage Factor +2.95 Block Points +1.75x Block Regen +1.1x Movement Speed Factor +1.09x Stamina Regen Speed | + Pretty easy to get early on. + Improves quality of life by buffing Movement Speed and Stamina Regen. - Damage and Block buffs are weak, to say the least. |
| Cutlass | +1 Damage +1.01x Damage Factor +0.45 Block Points | + Easy to obtain and usable by both Demons and Demon Slayers, which makes it a convenient early progression weapon. + Its quick, straightforward kit is friendly when you are still learning spacing and basic confirms. - Z and X both lost damage and gained longer cooldowns, so its early burst is weaker than the launch version. - The tiny stat package is completely outclassed once V2 and Series weapons become available. |
| Serpentine Katana | +2.5 Damage +1.1x Damage Factor +2.9 Block Points +1.45x Block Regen | - The weakest V2 sword in the game right now. - Low Damage and Block buffs. - VFX are not the best either. |

Best S-Tier Demon Weapons in Slayers 2
| Weapon | Stat Buffs | Why This Tier |
|---|---|---|
| Firstlight War Fans | +5.75 Damage +1.15x Damage Factor +8.45 Block Points +2.38x Block Regen +5 Max Stamina | + The best Demon weapon overall, with the highest combined Damage and Block package plus melee, ranged, and AoE coverage. + Its counter can reset Z and grant the self-buff, creating one of the strongest momentum swings a weapon can produce. - That reset and buff now require the counter to land, the counter cooldown is 20 seconds, and global counter cooldowns stop you from stacking defensive answers for free. - The schematic quest and material cost are substantial, but the finished weapon justifies the grind in PvP and PvE. |
| Firstlight Bladed Wagasa | +5.75 Damage +1.15x Damage Factor +7.25 Block Points +2.2x Block Regen +5 Max Stamina Sun Immunity | + Elite endgame stats, quick M1s, useful mobility, and Sun Immunity make it one of the best Demon farming weapons. + Sun Immunity frees an accessory slot, which can be turned into more damage, health, or stamina depending on the build. - V0.17 cut Z guard damage and final-hit Strict Stun, while X lost its stun and now leans on damage and improved tracking instead. - It remains S tier for total value, but its PvP strings are less automatic and blocking opponents are harder to crack than before. |
Best A-Tier Demon Weapons in Slayers 2
| Weapon | Stat Buffs | Why This Tier |
|---|---|---|
| Nightfall Claws | +5.75 Damage +1.15x Damage Factor +7.4 Block Points +2.2x Block Regen +5 Max Stamina | + The Z damage buff gave Claws real burst, and the fast M1s create clean openings for aggressive close-range builds. + Its endgame Damage and Block stats are good enough to support almost any Demon Art. + It feels especially strong when your Art supplies the ranged starter or crowd control that Claws lacks. - Short reach makes neutral difficult against War Fans, projectiles, and players who refuse to stand in your pocket. |
| Nightfall Sickles | +5.75 Damage +1.15x Damage Factor +7.95 Block Points +2.31x Block Regen +5 Max Stamina | + Still the natural endgame weapon for Blood Manipulation PvE and boss builds, with excellent stats, movement, and wide attacks. + Its pull and AoE coverage remain valuable when enemies are already grouped or locked down by your Demon Art. - Z lost 35% damage and scaling, gained more windup, and suffered a major block-damage cut. X also lost block damage. - The old Z-to-X follow-up is no longer free because both moves gained release or startup delay. It remains A tier as a specialist, not a universal pressure tool. |
Best B-Tier Demon Weapons in Slayers 2
| Weapon | Stat Buffs | Why This Tier |
|---|---|---|
| Nightfall Scythe | +5.75 Damage +1.15x Damage Factor +7.75 Block Points +2.27x Block Regen +5 Max Stamina | + Its endgame stat package competes with higher-tier weapons, and the larger Z hitbox makes the AoE much harder to sidestep. + The third X hit now applies Strict Stun, giving the weapon a real confirm when the full sequence connects. + It is useful for PvE groups and becomes more attractive when paired with the Reaper-themed Art and Fighting Style setup. - The kit is still slow enough that disciplined PvP opponents can block, Perfect Block, or disengage before the payoff. |
C-Tier Demon Weapons in Slayers 2
| Weapon | Stat Buffs | Why This Tier |
|---|---|---|
| Damascus Gauntlets | +4 Damage +1.08x Damage Factor +4.5 Block Points +1.7x Block Regen | + The faster Z startup makes its pressure less sluggish, and the kit still offers a handy mix of mobility, range, and AoE. + It is accessible, works on both factions, and performs well enough for early and midgame farming. - Its stats do not hold up against Nightfall and Firstlight gear, so heavy refinement is difficult to justify. - Nightfall Gauntlets ranking: TBA. We need more live testing before placing that upgrade. |
| Axe and Mace | +2.2 Damage +1.04x Damage Factor +1.5 Block Points +0.85 Damage Reduction | + The later 5% swing-speed and damage buff partially offsets its earlier speed nerf, and the M1s hit hard when they connect. + It remains the only current weapon in this list with a Damage Reduction stat, and its drop rate was raised from 7% to 15%. - The cumulative patches still leave it slower than the launch version, and slow M1s are a serious liability in PvP neutral. - Use it as a durable progression option, then move to an endgame Series weapon instead of overinvesting. |
Testing note: These rankings cover the Demon weapons we can evaluate reliably in V0.182. Nightfall Gauntlets and any unverified upgrade interactions remain TBA until we have enough live matches and boss runs to rank them without guessing.

Slayers 2 Weapon Tier List FAQ
Firstlight Tanto is the best overall Demon Slayer weapon, while Firstlight War Fans is the best Demon weapon in V0.182. Both combine top-end stats with kits that work in PvP and PvE.
Firstlight Tanto is the strongest all-round choice. Firstlight Spear is better for ranged PvP pressure, and Lost Shotgun remains an excellent PvE option after its combo nerf.
Firstlight War Fans is the best overall Demon weapon because it combines elite stats with range, AoE, melee pressure, and a counter. Firstlight Bladed Wagasa is the better farming and Sun Immunity specialist.
Yes. V0.182 fixed Series weapon effects being removed after Whirl Pool, Water Wheel, Constant Flux, or Dead Calm, so Water users can keep their weapon effects through those skills.
It narrowed the gap. Lost Shotgun, Sickles, and Bladed Wagasa all became less forgiving, but their endgame stats and remaining utility keep them in the upper tiers. Axe and Mace improved slightly without becoming an endgame meta pick.
