One skull down, two to go! Use the guide below to help you find Randal Stone's final resting place.

In the previous section of this guide, we covered How to Find the Skull of Martha Jane. In this section, we will explain how to pick up the trail to pursue the spirit ships and find Randal Stone's skull. This part of your adventure is a bit more complicated than when you started since you might end up sailing to a new island to figure out where to go next.

Sea of Thieves | The Seabound Soul Tall Tale | How to Find the Skull of Randal Stone

Before we begin, to complete this part of the Tall Tale, you will need to obtain Martha Jane's Skull. When you find her skull, you're given additional pages for your Quest Book that tell you where to pick up Randal Stone's trail. If you haven't started this tall tale or still need to find her skull, you can find it linked in the list below. Alternatively, if you want to find the Ancient Skull, the Hidden Journals, or the Ashen Artifacts, you can also find the links to those in the list below.

HIDDEN JOURNAL LOCATIONS: When you start this adventure, you might notice in your Pirate Log that one of the Commendations associated with it is for finding all the Hidden Journals. You must have the Seabound Soul Tall Tale active to find these Journals! As such, it is best to look for them along the way as you visit the islands in your iteration of the Tall Tale. Follow the link above to get the guide to locating these Hidden Journals.

If you're still reading, that must mean you're certain you're looking for Randal Stone! Since this adventure is relatively straightforward, we're going to provide specific instructions for what you need to do instead of providing an option for tips to solve the riddles yourself.

Step One: Pick up the Trail

When you obtained Martha Jane's Skull, you were given additional pages for your Quest Book. These new pages will provide clues to lead you to your next location, which will be where you need to go to pursue the two remaining ships. From this point, you will not be able to see the spirit forms of this ship, and you must go to the new island first.

The problem is that the new pages don't tell you which specific island is next. Instead, it shows you an image of the island's general appearance and provides one critical clue to discern between the possible islands. There are only two options; they are listed below.

Kraken's Fall

The key point here is that it says you need to go where monsters were slain. The monster it mentions is, of course, a Kraken. If you go here, pull around to the western side.

Fetcher's Rest

The key phrase in this clue is that you need to go where Fetcher breathed his last. Many of the islands will use clues like this to reference where significant characters or monsters were killed.

Step Two: Find Randal Stone

Once you are on the trail, you will follow the same pattern to Randal Stone that you did to Martha Jane. The ships will always be pointed to their next spot. This time around, you need to actually approach each scene to reveal the next scene's location. Generally, you have to be about a ship's length away before it registered that you reached it. When you do, the ship you're close to will disappear, and you'll have to look in the direction it was pointed to continue the trail.

The demise of Randal Stone.

When you reach the island where Stone's Ship sunk, you will need to go on land to follow the course. Approach the island on the same side of his now sunken ship and pull out the Enchanted Lantern. Somewhere along the beach, you should see a chase scene or footprints. Follow the direction of these footprints, and it will lead you to a scene where you see Randal get shot by a skeleton. This is where Randal Stone died and where you need to dig.

When you dig in this spot, you will find his skull. Sir Arthur Pendragon will make another appearance and again perform his incantation to free the soul from the skull. You've now captured the second of the three souls in the quest!

After you do this, you will again receive additional pages to your Quest Book. These instructions are much easier to follow, as they will circle an easily recognizable island on the map. Your newest task is to sail to that island to pick up the next trail! The island circled on the map will always be in the map section The Devil's Roar. It will also always lead to one island, no matter where you start.

What's Next

Before you move on, we will note that the guide's next part will lead you to complete the adventure. This means that this is your last chance to start searching for the Hidden Journals and Ashen Artifacts associated with this Tall Tale. The Hidden Journals reveal more insight into the story behind the game's main characters and could even, perhaps, change your opinion of them. This is currently the only story that has Ashen Artifacts on the list of things you can find, so you might as well cross them off the list!

Now that you have obtained Randal's Skull, you will need to pursue one final boat — The Ashen Dragon! For that final part of the Tall Tale, we will send you to the next chapter of our guide: How to Find The Ancient Skull!
