Where to get the Clock Tower Key in Sea of Thieves

With the Monkey Island update, Sea of Thieves now allows players to explore Mêlée Island and visit the iconic landmarks from the classic series. I was particularly interested in seeing the Clock Tower, but I discovered it was locked. To open it, I needed to find the Clock Tower Key. Here's where to find it.

Where to find the Mêlée Island Clock Tower Key in Sea of Thieves

You can find the Mêlée Island Clock Tower Key on a pirate in the Scum Bar. It belongs to the Thirsty Pirate with the checkered bandana on. However, he will not simply give you the key; you cannot steal it from him while he is awake. You'll need to embrace your inner pirate to get the Clock Tower Key.

How to get the Clock Tower Key in Sea of Thieves

To get the Clock Tower Key from the Thirsty Pirate, you need to serve him extra-potent-grog. However, the Chef won't let anyone who isn't kitchen staff touch the grog barrel. Thus, you need to get the Chef's Uniform and pose as the Chef's Assistant to gain access to the grog barrel.

Once you have acquired the Chef's Uniform, fill up your tankard with extra-potent-grog and serve the Thirsty Pirate three pours. This should knock him out and let you steal both the Clock Tower Key and any Pieces o' Eight he has on him. Feel free to over-serve the other Thirsty Pirates to liberate them of their coins.

How to open the Mêlée Island Clock Tower in Sea of Thieves

With the Clock Tower Key in hand, make your way to the Clock Tower. Interact with the door to open it and step foot inside. Keep the key on you; you will need it to open one more door. Make your way up the stairs and take the path not blocked by debris when you reach the branching stairways. Open the door, and you'll find yourself face-to-face with the massive clock.

Remove the bones that are jamming the clock mechanism, and step up to the wheel. Turn the hands until the clock shows midnight to activate the Clock Tower. This will bring you one step closer to reaching the Governor's Mansion and completing The Journey to Mêlée Island Tall Tale in Sea of Thieves.
