Are there different endings for cases in Sherlock Holmes Chapter One?

Can I play on one console and then move it to a lower or upgraded version?

Sherlock Holmes Chapter One will not follow the linear plots of its predecessors. Instead, the player will have complete control. Cases can end in a variety of ways, including when the player fails to catch the correct criminal.

The developers answered two questions in their video:

Will the games have multiple outcomes for cases, or endings like in the previous ones?

and

The inquires will be conducted in a linear way, or we'll be free to make mistakes and declare guilty the wrong person?

Both questions lead to the same answer. Each case will be decided by the player, unlike previous entries where it was linear. Earlier games allowed you to try again if you were wrong, but that doesn't appear to be the case in Sherlock Holmes Chapter One.

It is possible to accuse the wrong person. In every case, there are several suspects. It is possible to fail your investigation, but the story will still continue, unlike earlier games.
