How to gain additional attacks in battle in Shin Megami Tensei V

Exploit those weaknesses.

Shin Megami Tensei V is the latest turn-based RPG from Atlus, and like many of their previous RPGs, the game rewards players for knowing their enemies. Players can get the upper hand in battle by performing additional attacks on their opponents, but how is this done?

Hitting enemies with either a critical attack or striking an adversary's weakness will grant players extra attacks in battle. The more party members players have, the more opportunities they'll have to attack enemies, so make sure you fill up your party as soon as possible.

With a maximum of four party members, players can gain an additional four attacks if they capitalize on enemy weaknesses correctly per turn.

While players can gain additional attacks for hitting weaknesses and critical strikes, so too can enemies. Make sure to cover your weaknesses in battle and prepare in case an enemy gains the upper hand.

Some Special Skills, like Omagatoki: Critical, ensure that every attack hits critical during the current turn, guaranteeing additional attacks. However, these Special Skills do cost a full Magatsuhi bar, so make sure to save powerful spells like this for more pressing fights.
