What are Search Points in Shin Megami Tensei V?

Look for the Quest Navigators.

Shin Megami Tensei is the latest entry in Atlus' long-running franchise, putting players in the shoes of a Nahobino, an otherworldly being trying to stop the ruin set to befall Tokyo. Along their journey, players will discover items of interest in areas called Search Points.

Search Points are areas pointed out by Quest Navigators, NPCs that accompany players in various regions of the game's overworld. Players can recognize these areas of interest by the cat icon on their map with an exclamation mark in the center. When players get close to these Search Points, their Quest Navigators will point them out, standing next to the Search Points.

To open a Search Point, talk to your Quest Navigator when they find the item of interest. Once you've spoken with your Quest Navigator, any consumables you've discovered get sent to your inventory.

Be advised that not all Search Points carry rewards for players, some hide enemies waiting to take players by surprise. Finding an enemy this way means players must defeat them as soon as they appear.
