What is Magatsuhi in Shin Megami Tensei V

Save up that Magatsuhi.

Shin Megami Tensei V is the latest Japanese RPG from Atlus, and the game brings several terms that newcomers may have trouble understanding. The game’s terminology for specific mechanics can be overwhelming, especially with names like Magatsuhi. What is Magatsuhi, and how can players make use of this resource?

Magatsuhi is an in-combat resource that allows players and enemies to enact special attacks in battle. Players and adversaries each have a Magatsuhi bar that builds during fights. The Magatsuhi meter increases as players fight or defeat enemies. Once the meter is full, players can use one of Shin Megami Tensei’s Special Abilities.

These Special Abilities require a full charge of Magatsuhi charge, so once players use their Magatsuhi, they’ll need to recharge their bar by taking turns in combat and defeating enemies.

Be careful, though, as enemies also have Magatsuhi charge, and once they charge an entire bar, they’ll have a powerful attack that could devastate your party.

Shin Megami Tensei V is available now for Nintendo Switch.
