Am I... inside the sim's head?

You most likely associate playing The Sims 4 with a third-person experience, but what if we told you that you could get even more immersed in the game and play in first-person? Well, you can and we're going to tell you how to do it. Before you ask, yes it works when woohooing but it doesn't look how you would think it would!

To put your Sims experience into first-person, all you need to do is press Shift and Tab together at the same time. The game will then change to a first-person view.

How to control Sims in The Sims 4 First Person Mode

When playing in first-person mode your controls will change a little bit, so here is what you will need to do in order to play in your new first-person perspective:

  • Press the Spacebar or Left and Right arrow keys to switch between the sims in your household.
  • Right-click your mouse to select where you want sims to go.
  • Press the Ctrl button on the left-hand side of your keyboard to re-center the camera.
  • Keep Shift pressed to access the control panels with the mouse as you normally would.
  • Press Shift and Tab together again to exit first-person mode.

What is it like playing in first-person?

Playing through the eyes of your sims is an interesting experience. You definitely feel more involved with what is happening in the world you have created, but it is not perfect. You will see parts of their bodies glitch through from time to time, which can be a little strange.

The camera, from our experience, is a little harder to control as well, given that your sims have autonomy and will look wherever they want to. So, there can be a little bit of fighting for control sometimes. All in all, however, it is definitely a good way to spice up your Sims 4 gameplay!
