Sons of the Forest Peaceful Mode Guide

Give peace a chance!

Sons of the Forest is a survival horror game emphasizing the survival element. Like its predecessor, it takes place on a remote island where the player faces a lack of resources and must use what little supplies they have to fight for survival. Mutants and cannibals will threaten the player most during their adventure. But what if you just want to explore, build, and be left alone? Well, Peaceful mode has just what you desire!

Sons of the Forest - Does Peaceful Mode difficulty have enemies?

Technically, the Peaceful difficulty in Sons of the Forest will still feature some enemies and hostile animals. Without getting too much into the spoiler territory, you will still have to fight bosses if you choose this mode. It will also not remove the indigenous hostile animals or lower their aggression towards you.

The Peaceful difficulty will, however, remove all cannibals from the island. The caves will also be mutant-free, leaving you much more room to try out new builds and roam the island safely and without the fear of being attacked.

How to enable Peaceful Mode in Sons of the Forest

Enabling the Peaceful Mode in Sons of the Forest is easy. Here's a step-by-step:

  • Start Sons of the Forest on your platform.
  • Once you are in the game's Main menu, click on New Game.
  • Select Peaceful Mode from the difficulty level list.

These steps are all you need to do since the Peaceful Mode is just a difficulty level in the game. Unfortunately, if you already started a game on some other difficulty mode, you won't be able to change it. Starting a fresh new game is the only way to play on Peaceful Mode. Alternatively, if you want to customize your experience further, you can select Custom Mode. Again, be careful what options you choose because you won't be able to change them further down the road.
