Best Recolor Mods for Stardew Valley

The Stardew Valley modding community does a lot to upgrade the gaming experience, and changing the game's color palette is a simple yet effective method of refreshing the visuals. Here are some of the best recolor mods we found for Stardew Valley.

DaisyNiko's Earthy Recolor

Image via DaisyNiko

This recolor mod by DaisyNiko is a complete color overhaul that adds a warm, earth-toned tone to the entire game. It's calming to see the game look so naturally, well, colored! This mod includes all outdoor tile sheets, new custom trees, dig spots, and grass. Even buildings are changed to fit the palette.

Starblue Valley

This recolor mod was made by Lita. In short, it reduces the yellow color in the color overlay, which makes grass and leaves in the game bluish-looking. The only exception is autumn, when leaves look golden instead of yellow. This mod changes the color of interiors, craftables, flooring, furniture, and even a neutral interface.

Vibrant Pastoral Recolor

This is the grapeponta's first mod ever, and we can't praise it enough. This game recolor is based on vanilla color, but it has other attractive options, such as terrain flower replacements and seasonal holiday decor. Among the modded items are indoor & outdoor tile sheets, building exteriors, mine levels, trees, big craftables, and decor.

Elle's Dirt and Cliffs Recolor

The modder Elle made just one significant change to the game, but that change affects the entire game's level. This mod recolors the yellow dirt to a more brownish color. It also recolors the cliff dirt to match the palette. If you feel like it, you can recolor visible seasonal worms/stems and fertilizer to match.

Elle's Grass Replacement

Another mod by Elle changes the grass length and color in all seasons. The grass is now more colorful and vibrant, and you can choose between the short and vanilla lengths. This mod works even in winter, giving the grass a lovely blue shade.

Dark User Interface

The modder zazizu3 made this user interface recolor, which changes the background and font colors according to the user's preferences. You can pick between red, orange, yellow, green, blue, magenta, and black, or you can enable Seasonal Mode, which will change the user interface according to the current season.

A Wittly Named Recolor

Stardew Valley is already a great-looking game, and this mod by Acerbicon adds a new coat of paint to it. The game looks even more beautiful and vibrant, with highly contrasted colors in all four seasons. The game also looks darker and more somber, which is quite refreshing.

Yri's Retro Recolor

This mod, made by Yri, was inspired by GameBoy Advance games such as Golden Sun, Legend of Mana, Earthbound, and many more. Stardew Valley looks like a retro game with a cleaned, pixelated look typical for the 80s.

Naturally Valley

Elfenlibelle created this mod, which brings a small but remarkable change to Stardew Valley's visual identity. This mod retouches the ground, grass, and water and makes them a little softer. This mod didn't change trees, though, so you can alter foliage with other mods.

Rosier Colored Glasses

This is a rework of vamoosi's first mod, Rose-Colored Glasses. This mod gives the entire game a soft pink glow without removing the trademark Stardew Valley color scheme. The recolor includes buildings, crops, and some parts of the tools, and it works for all four seasons.
