How to get iron in Stardew Valley

To get iron bars in Stardew Valley, you will first need to get iron ore, which, as we previously stated, can be obtained from deep inside the mines.

However, the mines in Stardew Valley have many levels, so to simply head into the mines won't be enough; you instead will need to head to a specific level to make the most out of your journey.

That said, the levels we recommend exploring are anywhere from level 41 to 79, as among these mine levels, you will find iron ore in great abundance. As a side note, before you head into the mines, there's a colorful NPC that you can meet inside called the Dwarf; along with this, make sure to bring a pickaxe to mine the iron ore.

When you find some iron ore, hit it with the pickaxe, and you will get around three ores; if you have the Miner profession, you can increase this amount. Also, if you don't feel like mining the ore, you can find it as loot with the following below while inside the mines.

  • Metal Heads
  • Stone Golems
  • Dust Sprites
  • Iron Slimes
  • Geodes
  • Barrels and Crates

You can also get iron ore from panning, inside fishing chests, and ice pip fish ponds when the population reaches three.
