How to get void essence in Stardew Valley

Void essence is required for a few crafting recipes and to complete the dark reagent quest; luckily, the item is not hard to find and get if you know where to look. 

Where to find void essence in Stardew Valley

To get void essence in Stardew Valley, you will need to mainly find and hunt down a number of monster types in the game. These monsters can be found in several locations, and killing them will potentially drop the essence you need.

 That said, the first location you will need to go to is the mines, but just heading inside won't be enough; you will need to head straight down to around level 80 to 119. 

Around here, you will start encountering monsters called shadow shaman and brutes; kill these monsters, and you will have a 20 to 75 percent chance of getting void essence. Along with this, you can also hunt haunted skulls, but killing them will only have a minimal chance of dropping void essence. 

Because of this, we don't recommend targeting them; instead, head on over to the skull cavern. Inside the skull cavern, you can find and kill enemies called serpents on all floors with a 99 percent chance of dropping void essence; we recommend farming these guys over the shadow creatures if you can. 

The last best way you can get void essence is by having a void salmon fish pound reach a population of eight; at this point, the pound will start producing 5 to 10 void essence each day.

Where to buy void essence in Stardew Valley

Along with hunting and getting void essence as loot, you can also buy it from a specific NPC called Krobus. You can find this guy inside the sewers, but before you can talk to him, you will need to do a bit of leg work. To start, to get inside the sewers, you will need to get a rusty key. You can get this rusty key by donating 60 items to the Museum; once a total of 60 items have been donated, you will get the rusty key.

Use it to open the sewers, and you can find Krobus inside; he looks like a shadow brute, and he will be somewhere close to the entrance. Along with this, Krobus will sell the void essence for 100g every day and other items. After you get your void essence, you can then use it to buy other items like the void ghost pendant from the desert trader or craft the items listed below.

• Iridium Band
