How to get to the Eye in Starfield

Keep an eye out for this space station.

Starfield is full of exotic planets, deadly creatures, and quest-giving factions, making it my ideal space RPG. One of the first things I did was sign up with Constellation on Jemison, but before landing, I noticed a space station called the Eye orbiting the planet. After spotting the space station, I decided to check it out after leaving Jemison, but I needed to figure out how to get to the Eye in Starfield.

Where to Find the Eye in Starfield - How to Dock at the Eye

The Eye is found orbiting Jemison in the Alpha Centauri system and you'll need to go here for the quest, Short Sighted. Do not land on the planet, but rather stay in the space near it. Make your way to the Eye, and when you get close enough, you can dock with the space station.

Fly your ship close to the Eye and the option to dock will appear. Hold the button prompt once it appears, the cutscene will play showing your ship docking with the eye. Once the cutscene finishes, exit your ship and enter the Eye.

What to do at the Eye in Starfield

Initially, there isn't much to do at the Eye in Starfield. You can meet Vladimir Sall, a former Crimson Fleet pirate who retired and joined Constellation, or pick up a quest to find Andreja at the Abandoned Mine on Niira in the Narion System by speaking to Sall. You can also find some loot and items, including a Peak Performance book in the workout room to the right of The Eye's main room (it increases carrying capacity). You can also find Alex Hay's Note down the tunnel to the right as soon as you dock. More quests will involve the Eye as well, including the following.

  • Into the Unknown
  • No Sudden Moves
  • Short Sighted
  • Visit Vladimir's House

Should you go to the Eye or Defend the Lodge in Starfield?

The Eye becomes an important location during the mission High Price to Pay, in which you are faced with a choice of going to the Eye or defending the Lodge. Your choice will determine whether one of the companions or Barrett dies (your companion dies if you stay at the Lodge and Barrett dies if you go to the Eye).

Ultimately, the story will play out roughly the same: you'll need to fight the Hunter and the Artifacts will be kept safe, the only major difference being you lose access to Barrett or the companion who dies. Noel will then give you the choice of keeping the Artifacts safe at one of two locations, before you head back to the Lodge and speak to Matteo to complete the High Price to Pay mission.
