To listen to Emergency Transmission 02 in Starfield, you have to open your inventory and go to the New Items or Notes tab from the left. In any of these, scroll and find the Emergency Transmission 02 to play it. You don’t have to listen to the whole thing; just play and leave inventory to complete the objective.

Where is Emergency Transmission 02 in Starfield?

If you don’t have a marker for any planets, it’s likely you already have the Emergency Transmission 02 in your inventory. You get it by talking to one of the companions, Heller, near the ship where he is wounded. Once you talk to him and get the objective to listen to Emergency Transmission 02, it means you must have it in your inventory. 

What to do when you can’t find Emergency Transmission 02 in Starfield (error)
