How to mine Argon in Starfield

This noble gas can be toxic.

In Starfield, you'll come across several naturally occurring elements and chemical resources, and Argon is one of them. Argon is a gaseous element, so harvesting it can be a little tricky as your Cutter (laser) won't help. You'll find this chemical resource abundantly on the planet Jemison. Naturally, you need to know how to harvest this element. Here's how to harvest Argon in Starfield.

To collect Argon, you must walk close to an Argon Vent and quickly harvest the element. You'll find a few Argon Vents south of the Science Outpost on Jemison. You can travel to the Science Outpost from New Atlantis; However, I found it easier to orbit around Jemison with my ship and land at the outpost on the southern side of the planet.

Keep in mind that Argon is a toxic gas, and your watch will turn red with the following message "Toxic Gas Vent." Unlike Lead (Pb) and other solid elements, using your Cutter (laser) on gaseous elements like Argon and Chlorine is futile.

Instead, walk close to the elemental deposits/vents - harvest the item, and swiftly run back to safety. Check the yellow arrow on the image above to see how the watch blinks with the "Toxic Gas Vent" caution signal.

When you move out of this toxic gaseous field, your watch will blink with a green "Protection Regen" message. Usually, this means you are safe, but as a rule, check the Status Effects tab to see if you've been poisoned by the gas. I've harvested Argon from several vents till now, and from my experience, timeliness is key, as you don't want to linger in a toxic area for too long.

Once you land at the Science Outpost in Jemison, explore the area around to find different chemical elements. I found Water, Lead, Chlorosilanes, and Argon south of the Science Outpost. Check the yellow circle on the map image above to see the precise location of Argon Vents on Jemison.

Which Planets have Argon in Starfield?

So far, I have found Argon only on planet Jemison in the Alpha Centauri System. The easiest way to get this element is to visit the Science Outpost on the southern side of Jemison. You can scan the other planets in this system to check if they have this element. We'll add more locations to find Argon as we explore different planets and star systems.
