Starfield Character Builder – Tools for Creating Builds

Be prepared for character creation.

Starfield is a Bethesda RPG through and through, which means one of the most important decisions is what kind of character you will play. I tend to get overwhelmed during the character creation process, and I suspect the same will happen once I boot up Starfield for the first time. However, fans have created a character builder that helps relieve some of the character-creation pressure.

The Starfield character builder I recommend using is the nukesdragons character builder, which I've used personally to get an idea of what kind of character I want to play. Being able to jump into the game with a character idea in mind will save you valuable time when beginning your journey. Among the options you can play with:

  • Background
  • Stats
  • Skills
  • Traits

The character builder listed above does not contain story spoilers, nor does it allow you to create your character's appearance. You will have to wait until Starfield releases on PC, Xbox, and Game Pass until you can truly craft your character, but you'll be more prepared after using a character builder, as you can play around with your background and stats.

Can you Respec in Starfield?

At the time of writing, it is not known if you can respec your character. Starfield is a massive RPG and will feature many choices, both in terms of narrative and character customization. Being able to respec can prevent you from ruining your character, and Bethesda RPGs typically are more forgiving than other games, so it's likely there will be an option to do so. Regardless of whether there is an option to respec, your character should be fine for most of Starfield's challenges.
