The story mode in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League allows players to choose from four characters for the first time in the Arkham series. During the DC Fandom Panel, Will Arnett (LEGO Batman's voice) interviewed Sefton Hill about the details of the game and took the time to ask about the character selection.
Can I pick the character I want to play in Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League?
Hill said that players are "never locked" to any one character at any time. The game allows players to switch characters mid-game. The game will keep other characters close by so that players can play who they want at any time.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League allows players to switch characters in a similar way that Arkham Knight did, according to Hill. Players will remember being able to switch out mid-combo with a press of a button whenever Robin or Nightwing fought alongside Batman, and this will be the case for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.

Every character in Suicide Squad will do their part throughout the game, regardless of whether the player controls them. This game is different from Arkham games in that you do not go through it alone. You must work together with your squad throughout the game so the AI can control any character not controlled by a player.
