Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has been an anticipated title for superhero game fans, but those eagerly waiting to play this title from Rocksteady will have to bide their time a bit longer in light of a new delay.

On March 23, Sefton Hill, creative director and co-founder of Rocksteady Games, announced that Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will no longer release in 2022, instead opting for the Spring 2023 window.

While this delay aims to ensure that Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League releases in the best possible state, analysts believe that the wait will work in Warner Bros. favor in the long run. Benji Sales, a gaming analyst, believes that while Rocksteady and Warner Bros. made the delay with more dev time in mind, it makes sense from a financial standpoint for Warner Bros. to hold off on this title.

Warner Bros. already has two significant releases scheduled for Q4 2022: Gotham Knights and Hogwarts Legacy. Hogwarts Legacy even got a dedicated State of Play with PlayStation earlier this month.

It would be hard to release Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League without eating into the sales of their other titles. Pushing this title back ensures a more polished product and prevents oversaturation of Warner Bros. games at the end of the year.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League releases on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC in Spring 2023.
