What are the differences between the protagonists in Super Robot Wars 30?

When you first start Super Robot Wars 30, you’ll be given a choice of the male or female protagonists. Described as The Carefree Wanderer and The Lonesome Girl, choosing protagonists is your first major decision in SRW 30.

However, the differences between the characters are, for the most part, cosmetic, so it won’t matter whether you choose a Male or Female protagonist. The gameplay of both characters is identical at the beginning of the game.

But depending on which protagonist you choose, some minor story differences in the dialogue can be seen. By default, if you pick the male protagonist named Edge Sainklaus, you will usually encounter slightly older NPCs.

The order in which NPC’s introduce themselves and how they react to you will also change slightly, along with their dialog. Principally, NPCs will treat you as more of a loner and outsider. Similarly, with the default name Az Sainklaus, the female protagonist will often meet younger NPC’s first. Female NPCs will talk to you first, and others will generally treat you as a child due to Az’s youth-like appearance.

Again, these reactions are almost all just for flavor and won’t affect in-game mechanics. It’s pretty much just for fun! So pick whichever protagonist you think you’ll enjoy playing the most.
