Despite being a new character, Reina is one of the best-ranked fighters in the Tekken 8 tier list. Reina is definitely a force to reckon with and a character worthy of picking up.

Tekken 8 How to play Reina - Combo Guide and BNBs

Reina is straightforward when learning the basics but also very difficult to master. Her style is very similar to Heihachi Mishima, with some additions of other styles, such as Taido and Sentai style. Reina has a very unpredictable fighting style; she has a lot of stances and cancels, and she's very hard to read.

Reina Combos - Important Moves

Three moves are very important in building Reina's combos. Two of them are body shifts that connect strings and stances, and the third one is a special stance.

  • The first move is Sentai, which is a spin you can do after certain strings (for example, 1,1,2) by holding the forward button.
  • The other move is Wind God Step (d/f, 3), which makes Reina make a crouch dash. Sometimes, you can use Wind God Step as a combo opener, too.
  • The third move is Heaven's Wrath stance (d, 1+2), which is a static stance that allows Reina to make some very destructive attacks.

Tekken 8 Reina Combo Examples

  • d/f, 2> d, 2, 3, F> (Sentai), 2> 2, 2, 2, 2 - This combo starts with a launcher, continues with a Sentai starter combo, Sentai spin and right punch, and finishes with a simple string of four right punches. It's fairly simple to perform but deals a lot of damage.
  • f, d, d/f, 2 > f, 2, 3, F > (Sentai) 1+2 > (Heaven's Wrath) f, 3 > (Sentai) 3+4 - This combo uses both Sentai and Heavens Wrath. It is important to learn which moves are starters for Sentai and Heaven's Wrath. In this case, the f-2-3 combo is a Sentai opener, and 1+2 during Sentai activates Heaven's Wrath.
  • d/f,3 (Wind God Step)> 2 > 3, 2 > dash > 2, 2, 2, 2 - Another fairly simple combo that uses a dash to connect two strings. This combo starts with Wind God Step into launch, then a two-hit juggle, and it finishes with four right punches, like the first combo.

How to Read Movelist

This article uses standard Tekken novelist legend. For the new Tekken players, that means we're using numbers instead of buttons. Number 1 is a left punch or X/Square button; number 2 is a right punch or Y/Triangle button. The same goes for kicks; number 3 is the left kick or A/X button, and number 4 is the right kick or B/Circle button.

The directions are put in letters, so "f" is forward, "b" is back, "u" is up, and "d" is down. The same goes for combination; for example, d/f is down-forward. Capital letters mean that you hold the direction button instead of just pressing it.
