Learn the enemy's weakness!

There are a variety of enemies in Terrain of Magical Expertise and it can be hard to keep all that information straight. Luckily, you can scan enemies in the middle of combat to check this information.

To scan an enemy, navigate to your Strategy menu. You can do so by pressing the S key for mouse and keyboard, A button on Xbox controllers, and the X button on PlayStation controllers. Once in the menu, navigate to the Scan option and press S, A, or X input on your respective controller.

This will launch a pop-up that details an enemy's name, race, class, and element. This information changes based on whether you are scanning a monster or another "player." The scan option also tells you the enemy's attack, defense, magic attack, magic defense, and speed. You can also find a list of immunities the enemy has.

Scanning an enemy does not take your turn, so it is highly recommended to scan enemies you haven't encountered before as well as if you forgot the enemy's element and immunities. This prevents you from using an attack that they resist. While scanning an enemy doesn't take your turn, you do have 30 seconds to complete an action or else you will simply defend. To get out of the scan menu, simply press any of the other battle inputs.
