If you're just jumping into The Survivalists, then you might be a bit confused about how everything works. You are kind of just dropped into the sandbox world and required to start your survival trip immediately. While there are some instructions, they can still be a bit overwhelming at first. Never fear survivor! We are taking a look at how you can make sure your game gets saved, and you don't lose any of that precious data you've wracked up in your experience so far.
How to Save Your Game
To save in The Survivalists, you will need to craft and have access to a bed. To accomplish this you will need to make Comfy Padding and a Makeshift Bed Sheet. This will allow you to create your first bed, which you will then need to place somewhere via the Blueprints menu. Look for the Flimsy Bed option and select the location you'd like your bed to be. Exit the Blueprints menu, and then walk near the bed selection area. It will then require you to add the Comfy Padding, which you just need to select in your toolbar. You will then need to use the Flimsy Multitool to install it. After that, it will ask for the Makeshift Bed Sheet, which you can then add to it! You will now have a bed, walk over to it and either Save directly, or Sleep and Save if you'd like. Either way, your data should now be safe!
Getting all of the materials for your first bed can be a bit confusing. You will first need to hack some of the grass you see with the flowers on it. This will get you grass, which you need to create the Straw Bundle you are going to need to create your Comfy Padding. Next thing to do is to knockdown some palm trees to get the palm leaves, and finally you will need to craft some rope to complete the padding. The Make Shift Bedsheet can be made with three palm leaves, so make sure to chop down a few of those palm trees.
Another part that might trip you up is accessing the Blueprint menu. You can find the button you need to press by looking at the top left of your screen:
On PC by default it is the R-key, but if you're on console it will be something different. Once you access that menu, you will be able to then place the blueprint of the piece of furniture you'd like to create. You can then exit the menu and place the required materials on the blueprint outline to craft the furniture.
Well, that should be everything you need to know about saving your game! This isn't as simple as accessing it in the menu, and it will teach you a bit about the crafting system you will be relying on to survive!
