Uncharted 4 Pirate Founders Sigil Puzzle – How to solve

It's like a high-stakes jigsaw puzzle!

The Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection has been released on the PS5 this past week, and many players will, for the first time or once again, find themselves immersed in the final adventure of Nathan Drake. In a game where you are seeking a fortune hidden by a pirate, of course, there will be some puzzles along the way. Here is how to solve the Uncharted 4 Pirate Founders Sigil Puzzle.

In chapter 11, Hidden In Plain Sight, Nathan and Sully will make their way into a chamber beneath a clock tower. In this chamber, they will find a large wheel-like mechanism labeled Founders. To solve this puzzle, players must correctly align the sigils of various pirate captains, starting with Henry Avery and Thomas Tew.

There will be three rooms off of the chamber, each with multiple paintings hanging on the wall. Each of these paintings of a different pirate captain will have hidden within them a hint to the position that the correlating pirate's sigil should be in. See the image below for an example of the hint hidden in the painting.

In the first room that opens off of the chamber, you will find three pirates and the hints for the sigil positions. Here are the adjustments you need to make to these first three sigil's to align them.

  • Rotate Baldridge's sigil once to the left.
  • Rotate Bonny's sigil once the the right.
  • Rotate Condent's sigil once to the right.

After you align these sigils on the wheel, a second room will open up off the chamber, revealing three more pirate sigils. Return to the wheel after discovering each hint and adjust the sigils as such:

  • Rotate Want's sigil once to the right.
  • Rotate Farrell's sigil once to the left.
  • Rotate Mayes's sigil, so it's upside-down.

Doing this will open one final third room off the chamber. This room will feature four paintings of different pirate captains. After discovering the hint in each one, return to the wheel in the chamber one last time to align the final sigils as such:

  • Rotate the Scales so that they're upside-down.
  • Rotate the Serpent once to the left.
  • Rotate the Monkey so that it's upside-down.
  • Rotate the Tiger once to the right.

Once you have done all that, you will have successfully completed the Pirate Founders Sigil puzzle. All you have to do to continue forward is to photograph the three discs on the bottom of the wheel when it flips over.
