Is Vince back in Voice of Cards: The Forsaken Maiden?

And he doesn't have an eyepatch?

Voice of Cards is a DnD-like RPG created by NieR director Yoko Taro and the rest of his team. The first game, The Isle Dragon Roars, came out in late 2021. But in early Feb., a second Voice of Cards game was announced: The Forsaken Maiden. It came with a trailer that showed most, if not all, of the major characters in the game.

And if you’ve played The Isle Dragon Roars, you’ll see a familiar face: Vince.

He’s introduced as Blight, a doting attendant. He’s part of an organization called the Onyx Despair—a name we didn’t even hear about in The Isle Dragon Roars. But this might be the group that Melanie belongs to as well.

What’s interesting, however, is the name “Blight.” Blight is the name of the island where the dragon lived in The Isle Dragon Roars. Vince protected this dragon. The Vince in The Forsaken Maiden trailer also doesn’t have his iconic eyepatch. At least, not yet.

Huge spoiler warning for the first game—but given all these clues, The Forsaken Maiden seems to be a prequel to The Isle Dragon Roars’ events more than anything. Plus, Vince dies at the end of that game. Of course, we won’t anything definitive until the game comes out on Feb. 17.
