Witchfire - Upgrading and Unlocking Weapons, Explained

Unlocking and upgrading weapons isn't an easy process. You'll need to reach a specific level and complete the requirements. But if you want to survive the harsh world of Witchfire, then improving your weapons is a necessity. Here is how to upgrade and unlock guns in Witchfire.

How to Unlock Weapons in Witchfire

Unlocking weapons in Witchfire requires you to first reach level five. Once you do, the Mirror Workshop becomes available in the Hermitorium. Once you've unlocked the Mirror Workshop, you can research new weapons, including a medium and long-range gun, as well as various spells.

When you start researching a weapon, a timer will appear, and you must earn progress on it. Going on expeditions, killing enemies, and returning to the Hermitorium alive will advance your progress bar. Alternatively, you can offer up gold to increase the progress bar manually.

How to Upgrade Weapons in Witchfire

Upgrading weapons works differently than unlocking weapons in Witchfire. To upgrade weapons, you must have them equipped and inspect them in your menu. You'll notice a series of objectives listed in the bottom left corner. Complete the requirements and return to the Hermitorium. Use the Gun Workshop and inspect your weapons again, and you'll have the option to upgrade them.

Upgrading a weapon unlocks new abilities for it along with a new set of objectives. As you upgrade your weapon, it grows increasingly better with each new tier you reach. The objectives for these tiers become harder as you reach further upgrades.

How to get Gold in Witchfire

Gold cannot be found in Witchfire but rather gained through finding cursed artifacts. You find these objects on the ground, such as letters, cups, and more, with a glowing red pulse. You can pick the objects up, running the risk of activating the curse. Regardless of if the curse activates, return to the Hermitorium alive, and the treasure is turned into gold you can use to boost your research times.
