All Stats in Wo Long and what they mean

Ready your spreadsheets!

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is full of stats and numbers in typical souls-like fashion. However, unlike most other souls-like titles, Wo Long promises to overwhelm you with stat after stat right at the beginning. Understanding each one's functionality is paramount to your success. Thankfully, we've been studying up and can give you a bit of a guide on what each stat does on your Status page. Here are all the core stats in Wo Long: Fall Dynasty and what they mean.

Every Stat in Wo Long Fallen Dynasty and how they work

The stats listed on your Status page dictate the overall strength of your character in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty. Your main stats are called Virtues, and each one has its own set of wide-reaching effects based on skill point allocation:

  • Wood - Increases your maximum health and the amount of Spirit Gauge depleted when being attacked.
  • Fire - Increases the amount of Spirit Gauge gained from attacking and reduces skill consumption.
  • Earth - Increase your maximum equipment weight and the amount of Spirit Gauge gained when deflecting attacks.
  • Metal - Increases the duration of maintaining a high amount of Spirit Gauge, and reduces Spirit Gauge consumption when casting spells.
  • Water - Increases the time it takes enemies to spot you, and affects Spirit Gauge consumed when deflecting attacks.

These five core stats directly affect the stats found under your Combat Abilities on the Status page. Depending on your gear, these stats can have differing effects.

  • Melee Weapon 1 Attack Power - This is the attack that your first equipped melee weapon has. This stat is based on the scaling of the weapon. For example, if you invest in the Fire virtue, and use a weapon with Fire as a primary scalar, this stat will represent that.
  • Melee Weapon 2 Attack Power - This is similar to the above, only specific to your second equipped melee weapon.
  • Ranged Weapon Attack Power - This is the attack that your ranged weapons have. Unlike melee weapons, both range weapons go off of this same stat. Scaling, however, is the same as with melee weapons.
  • Defense - This affects how much health is lost upon being struck by an enemy. This stat is mostly affected by your armor.

  • Physical Resistance - Similar to Defense, only this stat reduces the damage received by physical attacks by the shown percentage.
  • Spirit Defense - This stat affects how much of your Spirit Gauge is depleted when being struck by an attack.
  • Spirit Sustainability - This stat represents the duration that a high Spirit Gauge can be maintained.
  • Spell Duration - Increases the lasting duration of positive buffs and applied status effects by the percentage shown.
  • Stealth - Increases the damage of Fatal Strikes to oblivious enemies, and decreases the likelihood of them spotting you.
  • Luck - Improves the odds of finding rare, more powerful loot from all sources.

The Spirit Gain Rate section of stats relates to how your Spirit Gauge is affected through attacking and defending:

  • Attack - Increases the amount of Spirit Gauge gained through attacking enemies.
  • Deflect - Increases the amount of Spirit Gauge gained through deflecting hostile attacks.

The Spirit Consumption Rate section relates to how much of your Spirit Gauge is used when performing various actions:

  • Martial Arts - Represents the amount of Spirit Gauge needed to perform weapon skills. A lower percentage means that weapons skills cost less to use.
  • Wizardry Spells - Represents the amount of Spirit Gauge needed to perform spells. Like with Martial Arts, a lower percentage means less cost.
  • Deflect - Represents the amount of Spirit Gauge needed to successfully deflect attacks.

The Equipment Weight section relates to how gear affects your overall ability to move and act:

  • Max - Represents the amount of weight you can wear before movement becomes impaired.
  • Proportion - Represents your total equipment weight in proportion to your Max. limit. The lower this number, the fast and more nimble you are.
  • Agility - Represents your actual nimbleness. Depending on your Max. and Proportion, this stat can wildly vary. The higher the letter grade, the easier it is to deflect, and the fewer Spirit Gauge weapon skills cost to use.

The Elemental Abilities section has stats that affect how much damage and status accumulation you can do with an element, as well as how much you can resist an element and its associated status effect:

Sword Icon Stats:

  • Wood - How much damage and status you inflict with Lightning attacks
  • Fire - How much damage and status you inflict with Flame attacks
  • Earth - How much damage and status you inflict with Stone attacks
  • Metal - How much damage and status you inflict with Toxin attacks
  • Water - How much damage and status you inflict with Ice attacks

Shield Icon Stats:

  • Wood - How much damage and status you resist from Lightning attacks
  • Fire - How much damage and status you resist from Flame attacks
  • Earth - How much damage and status you resist from Stone attacks
  • Metal - How much damage and status you resist from Toxin attacks
  • Water - How much damage and status you resist from Ice attacks
