Morale Rank and Fortitude Rank are essential to your success in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty fights. To achieve any success in the game, you must use Morale and Fortitude mechanics along with the five Virtues to your advantage. That way, you'll take less damage from enemies and lose less Morale when you die. So, what are Morale Rank and Fortitude Rank in Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, and how do you improve them?
What is Morale Rank in Wo Long Fallen Dynasty?
Morale Rank affects your strength in battle but is separate from the player's levels. The same is true for all the enemies you face on the battlefield. Morale Rank affects the amount of damage you do to enemies and receive from enemies in combat. If an enemy's Morale rank is higher than yours, it will appear as a different color to indicate its threat.
- Grey: Same Morale Rank.
- Yellow: One to Four ranks higher.
- Red: Five or more ranks higher.
Morale Rank also affects your Wizardry Spells. Powerful wizardry spells require a certain Morale rank to be used in combat. At the start of each Battlefield, your Morale Rank will be reset, requiring you to increase it again. You can view your current Morale rank on the HUD above your health bar.
What is Fortitude Rank in Wo Long Fallen Dynasty?
Fortitude rank is the minimum your Morale rank can be on the current Battlefield. This will differ per Battlefield and can be increased to keep your Morale rank higher when you die. When you die, your Morale rank will drop to your Fortitude Rank. If you defeat the enemy that killed you, you can regain your Morale Rank.
How to increase Morale Rank in Wo Long Fallen Dynasty
Morale Rank increases as Morale Points are gained, up to a limit of 25. Morale Points can be earned by defeating enemies or landing Martial Arts attacks, Spirit attacks, or a Fatal Strike on them in combat. The higher an enemy's Morale rank, the more Morale Points you will earn for defeating them.
How to increase Fortitude Rank in Wo Long Fallen Dynasty
Fortitude rank is increased by raising Battle Flags and Marking Flags during combat up to a limit of 20. Battle Flags and Marking Flags are found on Battlefields. The total number of flags is next to the compass for your current Battlefield. There are three different types of flags. However, they will all increase your Fortitude rank when captured.
- Battle Flag: Standard Rest site.
- Controlled Battle Flag: A Rest site controlled by a strong enemy that must be defeated before unlocking.
- Marking Flag: Hidden small flags that will increase your Morale Rank. Cannot be rested at.
