S Tier
Cheng Pu
Cheng Pu is the best ally in Wo Long due to his secondary Warrior Effect. This effect gives HP Restoration from melee attack damage, meaning anytime you strike an enemy, you will receive a portion of health. Although the amount is small, it quickly adds up as you fight your way through Battlefields.
Huang Gai
Huang Gai is a great ally to choose for similar reasons to Cheng Pu. His first Warrior Effect gives HP Restoration upon Fatal Strike. In Wo Long, you regularly trigger a Fatal Strike when you break an enemy's Spirit Gauge or attack from stealth.
Hong Jing
Hong Jing is a unique ally that is worth investing in. Hong Jing has unique Warrior Effects based on Wizardry Spells, increasing their damage and lowering Spirit Consumption. Hong Jing can also use Wizardry Spells and apply status effects to enemies, which most other allies cannot.

A Tier
Xun Yu
Xun Yu is a Wood virtue companion. His Warrior Effects increase the amount of HP you restore and Genuine Qi Obtention during battlefields. This makes him a versatile companion with solid passive effects.
Cao Cao
Cao Cao is a unique ally that will increase your ability to find Marking Flags on Battlefields. His other Warrior Effect increases damage dealt to enemies with negative effects. Marking Flag Detection is a huge bonus as these flags are often well hidden and difficult to locate.
B Tier
Xiahou Dun
Xiahou Dun is an Earth virtue ally with heavy armor and weapons. While Xiahou Dun lacks valuable Warrior Effects, his defensive capabilities, when encouraged, can help the player survive tricky situations.
Sun Ce
Sun Ce is a Fire Virtue ally that uses the Tiger Fang Dual Halberds. His Warrior Effects increase the Spirit gained when attacking while reducing the amount of Spirit damage you receive. Sun Ce fits well as an ally for a Fatal Strike build because of this.
C Tier
Xiahou Yuan
Xiahou Yuan's Warrior Effects focuses on ranged combat, increasing your Ranged Attack damage and Ammo Retrieval upon ranged attack. While these effects are unique, ranged combat is rarely used in Wo Long to engage with tough enemies or bosses.
Sun Quan
Similar to Xiahou Yuan, Sun Quan focuses on ranged combat. His Warrior Effects apply Damage Amplification status to the enemy upon ranged attack and restore ammo upon a fatal strike.

Allies guide in Wo Long Fallen Dynasty
Allies will join you throughout your journey in Wo Long. Allies are AI companions that will fight enemies on your behalf and provide passive buffs to you and your other ally. You can have two allies summoned at any time, with the option to replace one ally with another.
You can consume spirit to encourage your ally companions by pressing RB + Up on the D-Pad. Encouraged allies take action according to their characteristics and Five Phases affinity. Allies can be knocked down in combat and will need to revive, and if they are summoned allies, they can leave the battlefield if not revived.
All allies will provide some level of assistance in combat, and none are considered flawed. It's essential to pay attention to the allies' Warrior Effect. The Warrior Effect is the passive bonus the ally gives the player; the best warrior effects provide the player HP restoration and reduce the damage received by enemies.
How to Summon Allies
Some missions will have allies automatically summoned that are linked to the story in that Battlefield; however, you can manually summon allies with Tiger Seals. Tiger Seals are found on Battlefields and by avenging fallen players in combat. When avenging fallen players, you will receive Accolades and Tiger Seals that can be used for summoning.
How to increase Ally Oath Level
When you fight alongside an ally, you will form alliances with them and increase your Oath Level. You can also increase your oath level by one with the Cup of Cordiality item that can be found in the world.
At Oath level five, the performance of the ally will improve, and they will gain a second passive buff. At Oath level 10, the ally will become your sworn brother and deliver you a copy of their armor and weapons. This gear is high quality and well worth investing in once unlocked from your allies.
