How to complete the Relics of the Light Quest in WoW Season of Discovery

Get the first of 12 new runes in WoW Classic.

Relics of the Light is a quest in WoW Season of Discovery to get one of the 12 runes for Paladins. This quest is available for human paladins only, and it can be acquired at level 2 in the starting human zone.

In order to get the quest, you'll need to have a chat with Brother Sammuel in Northshire. He's the Paladin trainer, located inside the building. He will charge you to find Librams to "help you strengthen your connection to the Light," giving you new powers. This is the quest for the first of 12 runes for Paladins, and it's a little weird to get it started. First and foremost, the AddOn Questie doesn't highlight Sammuel as a quest giver for this. It's also a little difficult to find a Libram, and it can be a weird to use.

How to get the Libram

The Libram is a random drop from the Defias to the east of Northshire in the same location where you need to kill bandits and collect Milly's Harvest. It has a fairly good chance of dropping from one of these enemies, so just doing the Defias quests will most likely get you one without having to do anything extra. Once it drops, make sure to equip it immediately.

How to charge the Libram and complete Relics of the Light

In order to charge the Libram and get a working Season of Discovery rune, you'll need to use Judgement. Judgement is a level 4 Paladin spell; its description in the game is "Unleashes the energy of a Seal spell upon an enemy. Refer to individual Seals for Judgement effect." This means that you need to have a Seal active in order to use Judgement.

So, when you are in combat with an enemy, cast a Seal, then cast Judgement before it runs out of its timer. Once you have used Judgement 10 times in combat, you can return to Brother Sammuel in Northshire; he will reward you with Tarnished Chain Gloves and the Relic. This Relic will let you Engrave any pair of gloves with Crusader Strike

Can't find Brother Sammuel in Northshire? If you are new to WoW Classic or just haven't played in a while, it might be difficult to find Sammuel and get this quest. Since this NPC won't be lit up by Questie or on the minimap, you might find yourself running around Northshire, lost. He's on the bottom floor of the building to the right of the entrance. Here is a map to help you find him.

NPC has the wrong text error and how to fix it

With Season of Discovery only having one server for each kind of play style, the starting locations can get pretty crowded. This has lead to some issues that even proper layering wasn't quite equipped to handle. One of these is the NPC having the wrong dialogue when you try to turn in or pick up a quest. This is pretty common in the Relics of the Light quest. In order to fix it, just reload your UI by typing in /reload and pressing enter.
