World of Warcraft: Dracthyr Evoker race/class combo, explained

A new class is coming to World of Warcraft soon.

World of Warcraft announced their upcoming expansion, Dragonflight. Alongside this new expansion, the team at Blizzard has several new additions planned for the game, including a new playable race/class combo known as the Dracthyr Evoker, but what is this new playable creature?

What is the Dracthyr Evoker?

The Dracthyr Evoker is World of Warcraft's first race-and-class combo, meaning those playing the Dracthyr Evoker will only have the option to play a single class, which specializes in mid-rang combat dealing attacks with breath attacks. Abilities can be empowered via magic and charge up animations to improve their effects, and Dracthyr Evokers can also use magic to boost allies.

Dracthyr Evokers can swap between a human and dragon-like form, sporting a unique visage for each state. While classes are static for the newest class from Blizzard, players can choose their allegiance freely, devoting their character to either the Alliance or the Horde at will. The latest class will arrive in World of Warcraft alongside the Dragonflight expansion, and players can opt-in to the Beta now.

Blizzard released a preview of the Dracthyr Evoker and the new Dragonriding mechanic on their official YouTube channel, which is available below.
