How to get Crystal Solvent in Wuthering Waves and what it’s used for

Wuthering Waves utilizes an energy system to limit each player's farming capacity per day, allowing progression to spread over a longer period. When you've run out of Waveplates, you can replenish them with Crystal Solvents to continue farming for the day. Here's everything you need to know about Crystal Solvents in Wuthering Waves.

How to get Crystal Solvent in Wuthering Waves

Crystal Solvents are limited items that can only be obtained sparsely throughout the game. Here are all the ways you can get them.

Pioneer Podcast

The Pioneer Podcast is the Wuthering Waves battle pass, where you can complete tasks to gain EXP and level up to obtain rewards—including Crystal Solvents.

Through the free Public Channel, you can obtain them by reaching levels five, 15, 25, 35, and 45, giving you a total of five Crystal Solvents per update. With the paid Insider Channel, you'll obtain Crystal Solvents by reaching levels five, 10, 15, 20, 25, 35, and 45, giving you two more per update.

Milestones

Head to the Terminal, click on the Guidebook, then head to the second tab to find the Milestones section, where you can complete one-time tasks for a variety of rewards. Apart from Crystal Solvents, you can also get Astrites, Data Bank EXP, Echoes, Union EXP, and other amazing resources that could give you a jumpstart in the early game.

Data Bank

By absorbing new Echoes and filling the Echo Gallery, you can level up the Data Bank to obtain rewards that are crucial for progression. Leveling up will merit you with Astrites and the occasional Crystal Solvent, all while increasing your Stamina and Echo drop rate.

Union Level

Awakening Journey is a permanent level-up event that aims to help new players get a boost in resources simply by raising their Union Level. Among the milestones, you can get a total of six Crystal Solvents by leveling up to 25 and 35. These are one-time rewards, and the event page will disappear once you claim the final rewards at level 45.

How to use Crystal Solvent in Wuthering Waves

Crystal Solvents can be used to immediately replenish 60 Waveplates. It would typically cost 60 Astrites or take six hours of waiting to get the same benefit, so Crystal Solvents can be a huge help on days when you're itching to farm for resources as quickly as possible. To use them:

1. Head to the Terminal and select the Backpack on the second page (B shortcut for PC).
2. Head to the Valuables tab.
3. Click on the Crystal Solvent.
4. Click on the Use button under the Crystal Solvent's description.

Should you use Crystal Solvents as a new player in Wuthering Waves?

Crystal Solvents are good to use as a beginner as spending Waveplates will make it easier to raise your Union Level and SOL3 Phase. Early-game progression is dependent on maxing out your SOL3 Phase as quickly as possible to unlock every facet of the game, so it can be beneficial to use your Crystal Solvents early on. While rare, you will continue to obtain Crystal Solvents over time, especially through the Pioneer Podcast, which refreshes with every major update.

However, there's no rule that says you have to use these precious resources. I personally like saving Crystal Solvents for days when I want to farm for Resonator and weapon ascension materials quickly, so deciding to use them or not is entirely preferential.
