Tower of Adversity is a challenging and rewarding gameplay mode in Wuthering Waves that works similarly to Spiral Abyss from Genshin Impact. However, it gets tricky when it comes to unlocking and playing the Tower of Adversity, so this Wuthering Wave guide is here to help with everything Tower of Adversity.
What is the Tower of Adversity in Wuthering Waves?
Tower of Adversity is a gameplay mode that offers various rewards for fighting and completing its multiple floors. There are waves of enemies with certain fixed or variable conditions for each floor, like having increased crit damage for certain elements. You must defeat them before the time runs out to complete a floor to get rewards and progress.
Additionally, there are three types of zones in Tower of Adversity:
- Stable Zone: These are the easiest challenges, and you can only claim their rewards once.
- Experiment Zone: This is more or less the advanced version of the Stable Zone and also rewards you only once.
- Hazard Zone: This is the hardest zone, and it resets rewards periodically, meaning you can play it again to get more rewards when it resets.
How to unlock Tower of Adversity in Wuthering Waves
To unlock the Tower of Adversity, you must complete a tutorial quest called Alone in Abyss. You must have at least 16 Union Levels and have completed the Clashing Blades main quest to get this quest. Once you have the quest, head to its location and talk to Sanhua.
She will ask you to come to the Tower of Adversity, and after some conversations, you will unlock the Tower of Adversity. Now, the game will let you play the first floor, and after you complete this floor, the tutorial quest will finish, and you will get access to Tower of Adversity.
How to make the best team for Tower of Adversity
Since each floor has different conditions, making one team clear all the floors can be tiresome and very ineffective. This is why there is an in-game mechanic who will recommend the best-suited teams for each floor to you.
When you click the Start Challenge button for a floor, you will be prompted to create your party, and on the bottom left side, there is an option to see the recommended parties. This will show you a list of different parties that you can use to complete that floor effectively, and you will likely have all the needed characters for one of these teams.
If you don't have any team, read the conditions carefully, check the recommended teams, and swap one of the similar available characters with the unavailable one. That way, you can create the most effective team for every floor of the Tower of Adversity in Wuthering Waves.
Best teams to use in the Tower of Adversity
Although you can create your own team for each floor based on the game's recommendations, there are times when you won't have all the characters or need some solid teams ready to go. The safest team comps are always those that have two DPSes and one healer.
If you're at a loss for where to start, here are some of the best teams we've used to clear Tower of Adversity ourselves:
- Chixa, Yangyang, Baizhi
- Sanhua, Yuanwu, Verina
- Rover, Yangyang, Baizhi
- Calcharo, Sanhua, Verina
- Jianxin, Mortefi, Verina
Tips to clearing Tower of Adversity floors
When it comes to beating Tower of Adversity in Wuthering Waves, there are a few things you can do to improve your chances:
- Ensure to equip the best weapons and echoes for each of the party member so they can do their best in the battle.
- Level up your characters higher than the enemies you will face on each floor to finish them faster to get more Crests.
- Group enemies up to deal damage to more of them simultaneously since there is a time limit, and attacking individual enemies will consume more time.
- Pay attention to each floor's conditions and take full advantage of those to play the game on your conditions instead of unknowingly giving enemies an upper hand.
Finally, don't be down if you can't clear a floor. Have fun, and explore the world to make your characters more powerful and come back stronger!
